November 4, 20223 yr Author 27 | 24 | 17th week Burna Boy featuring Ed Sheeran For My Hand 3rd single from Love, Damini Released: 8th July 2022 Label: Atlantic Recording Corporation Chart Statistics NE (21/07/2022) | 30-35-32-34-30-25-25-24-24-22-21-20-19-18-20-24-27 Sales: 200k+ Certification: Silver Status: Standard Chart Ratio 17 Sales 28 Audio Streaming 13 Video Streaming Video EDZ25anwgjc Biography Nigerian singer Burna Boy opened his Apple Music Up Next spotlight with a distinction: “Music’s supposed to be a universal language. You understanding what I’m saying is second. The primary thing is, what does the person inside you hear?” It’s a simple but radical thought: You can listen on your terms, but he doesn’t have to meet you halfway. Born in 1991 and raised on the southern coast of Nigeria before moving to London for college, Burna (born Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu) has become one of the most prominent African pop artists of the 21st century, fusing his specific background—a Nigerian man entering adulthood in the United Kingdom—with a global vision that encompasses Afrobeats, dancehall, trap, UK hip-hop and just about everything else that might fit under his diasporic umbrella. The result is an artist who isn’t confined by his identity but doesn’t dilute it either. By the time he received broader recognition through a (conspicuously uncredited) feature on Drake’s 2017 mix, More Life, he was already a star in Africa; 2019’s African Giant, which featured collaborators as disparate as Angélique Kidjo, Skrillex, Damian Marley and Future, brought him into international focus. Yeah, he’s just speaking to his people. But there are more of them all the time. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History Burna Boy 2017 88 Good Time (J Hus feat. Burna Boy) 2019 06 Location (Dave feat. November 4, 20223 yr Author 25 | 18 | 10th week Elton John and Britney Spears Hold Me Closer 5th single from The Lockdown Sessions Released: 26th August 2022 Label: EMI Chart Statistics NE (08/09/2022) | 3-8-10-12-15-17-12-18-18-25 Sales: 100k+ Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio 01 Sales 14 Audio Streaming 08 Video Streaming Video qExVlz3zb0k Biography Elton John At the height of the fever dream that was Elton John’s life in the ’70s, the singer-songwriter had the optician Dennis Roberts design a pair of giant, sculptural glasses studded with 57 battery-powered lights in the shape of the name Elton—to the tune of about $5,000. Adjusted for inflation, you’re talking about something more like $25,000. But John had a show to put on, and wouldn’t that be something to talk about? The excess was always apparent: the rhinestones, the costumery, the old Hollywood glamour retrofitted for a new, gender-bending world. But beneath the feathers, John’s music—written with the lyricist Bernie Taupin—was direct and unpretentious, the kind of rock ’n’ roll storytelling that met you where you were. Even if you didn’t know exactly what it meant—who is the dancer, and why are they so tiny?—the feeling was immediate, universal. By 1973’s Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, John said they were writing a couple of songs at breakfast and recording them before lunch. This was pop music, John argued: You weren’t supposed to think about it too much, and god help you if you did. And yet here we are, singing the songs five decades later. Born Reginald Dwight in Pinner, England, in 1947, John took to the piano young, studying on a scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music while obsessively listening to Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard. They were so physical, John marvelled—they didn’t just play the piano, they beat it. He started playing in pubs at 15 and, around 20, met Taupin through a want ad in a music magazine. There were good years and bad ones, highs and lows—that handful of Valium before jumping into the swimming pool in 1975, for example, or the disco album, which John himself described as jumping on a dying bandwagon—but he has always endured, emerging from the debauchery of the ’70s and redefinitions of the ’80s bruised but never beaten, a gay icon, AIDS activist, philanthropist, Knight Bachelor, and father of two. In 2018, nearly 50 years after his debut album, he embarked on a three-year farewell tour, and published his first autobiography, Me, in 2019. The host of Apple Music 1’s Rocket Hour, Elton has been the recipient of countless awards (Grammys, Oscars, BRITs, Tonys, Ivors), has been knighted by Queen Elizabeth II and, in 2020, was awarded the Companion of Honour. - Apple Music Britney Spears Although Britney Spears’ career is often viewed through the lens of major ’80s teen-pop luminaries such as Debbie Gibson or Madonna, the vocalist outgrew her prefab, mall-music image and became one of the 21st century’s most adventurous pop stars. Spears’ initial performing experience came on TV, as a cast member on a ’90s reboot of The Mickey Mouse Club. After her time on that show ended, the LA-raised artist became a pillar of the nascent Y2K teen-pop boom: her 1999 debut, ...Baby One More Time, was certified diamond (10 times platinum) in less than a year, and the next year’s Oops!...I Did It Again shipped 9 million copies by mid-2001. Multiple dance-geared hits followed, courtesy of collaborations with sonic icons—Swedish pop guru Max Martin (“...Baby One More Time”), adventurous production team The Neptunes (“I’m a Slave 4 U”) and electro mavens Bloodshy and Avant (“Toxic”). Sales aside, however, Spears became one of the biggest pop stars ever due to the savvy way she expresses the complicated calculus of being a woman in the modern world. Her lyrics tackle massive fame, romantic drama and the challenge of maintaining a sense of self—all of which translates to an emotionally vulnerable persona that finds Spears asserting she’s a survivor (“Stronger”), sexually empowered (woe to the cheater depicted in “Womanizer”) and not a pushover. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History Elton John 1971 04 Your Song -1- MILLIONAIRE 1972 02 Rocket Man -1- MILLIONAIRE 1972 31 Honky Cat -2- 1972 05 Crocodile Rock -1- 1973 04 Daniel -2- 1973 07 Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting -1*- 1973 06 Goodbye Yellow Brick Road -2*- 1973 08 Step Into Christmas -NAS- MILLIONAIRE 1974 11 Candle In The Wind -3*- 1974 16 Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me -1- 1974 15 The Bitch Is Back -2- 1974 10 Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds -NAS- 1975 12 Philadelphia Freedom (The Elton John Band) -NAS- 1975 22 Someone Saved My Life Tonight -1- 1975 14 Island Girl -1- 1976 07 Pinball Wizard -OST- 1976 01 Don't Go Breaking My Heart (Elton John & Kiki Dee) -NAS- MILLION SELLER 1976 37 Benny And The Jets -4*- 1976 11 Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word -1- 1977 27 Crazy Water -2- 1977 28 Bite Your Lip / Chicago (Elton John & Kiki Dee) -3- 1978 34 Ego -NAS- 1978 15 Part Time Love -1- 1978 04 Song For Guy -2- 1979 01 Are You Ready For Love -1- 1980 33 Little Jeannie -1- 1980 44 Sartorial Eloquence (Don't Ya Wanna Play This Game No More?) -2- 1981 40 I Saw Her Standing There (The Elton John Band & John Lennon) -NAS- 1981 42 Nobody Wins -1- 1982 08 Blue Eyes -1- 1982 51 Empty Garden (Hey Hey Johnny) -2- 1983 05 I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues -1- 1983 04 I'm Still Standing -2- MILLIONAIRE 1983 20 Kiss The Bride -3- 1983 33 Cold As Christmas (In The Middle Of The Year) -4- 1984 07 Sad Songs (Say So Much) -1- 1984 05 Passengers -2- 1984 50 Who Wears These Shoes? -3- 1985 59 Breaking Hearts (Ain't What It Used To Be) -4- 1985 32 Act Of War (Elton John & Millie Jackson) -NAS- 1985 03 Nikita -1- 1985 12 Wrap Her Up -2- 1986 47 Cry To Heaven -3- 1986 45 Heartache All Over The World -1- 1986 44 Slow Rivers (Elton John & Cliff Richard) -2- 1987 59 Flames Of Paradise (Jennifer Rush & Elton John) 1987 85 Your Song (Live) -1- 1988 05 Candle In The Wind (Live) -2- 1988 30 I Don't Wanna Go On With You Like That -1- 1988 74 Town Of Plenty -2- 1988 91 A Word In Spanish -3- 1989 41 Through The Storm (Aretha Franklin & Elton John) 1989 45 Healing Hands -1- 1989 55 Sacrifice -2- 1990 01 Sacrifice / Healing Hands -3- 1990 47 Club At The End Of The Street / Whispers -4- 1990 33 You Gotta Love Someone -1- 1990 63 Easier To Walk Away -2- 1991 01 Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me (George Michael & Elton John) -1^- 1992 10 The One -1- 1992 31 Runaway Train (Elton John & Eric Clapton) -OST- 1992 21 The Last Song -2- 1993 44 Simple Life -3- 1993 02 True Love (Elton John & Kiki Dee) -2^- 1994 07 Don't Go Breaking My Heart (Elton John & RuPaul) -3^- 1994 24 Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing (Marcella Detroit & Elton John) -4^- 1994 14 Can You Feel The Love Tonight -OST- 1994 11 Circle Of Life -OST- 1995 15 Believe -1- 1995 18 Made In England -2- 1996 33 Please -3- 1997 01 Something About The Way You Look Tonight / Candle In The Wind '97 -1- MILLION SELLER 1998 16 Recover Your Soul -2- 1998 32 If The River Can Bend -3- 1999 10 Written In The Stars (Elton John & LeAnn Rimes) -1- 2001 09 I Want Love -1- 2002 24 This Train Don't Stop There Anymore -2- 2002 39 Original Sin -3- 2002 01 Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word (Blue feat. November 4, 20223 yr Author 24 | 21 | 5th week Ed Sheeran Celestial Soundtrack single from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Also features on = Released: 29th September 2022 Label: Asylum Records UK Chart Statistics NE (13/10/2022) | 6-15-22-21-24 Sales: 70k+ Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio 01 Sales 31 Audio Streaming 22 Video Streaming Video 23g5HBOg3Ic Biography There’s a lovely moment a little ways into Apple Music’s Songwriter documentary about Ed Sheeran in which Sheeran, jet-lagged and carrying a cup of tea, straggles out into a yard in Malibu at dawn, sits down at his laptop and begins writing a song about the moment right in front of him: the crisp air, the birdsong, the hot tea, the day ahead. He gets a full verse in, melody and all, then pauses. “Songs are weird things,” he says. “How so?” an interviewer asks. “They just come and go,” Sheeran says, smiling. “And they never give you any warning.” For Sheeran, they seem to come pretty reliably. Born in 1991 in Halifax, England, he started out gigging on the UK pub circuit before releasing his first studio album, +, in 2011, and has since become one of the most unstoppable singer-songwriters in music, forging a light blend of folk, pop, hip-hop and dance that feels slick but lived-in, intimate but universal. Whether on his own (“Sing”, “The A Team”, “Shape of You”, “Perfect”) or in collaboration with artists from Taylor Swift to Eminem to Justin Bieber, Sheeran has a unique ability to strike a chord that feels both bittersweet and redemptive, good-natured and genuine: the hopeless romantic who convinces you he might just be right. In 2017, he was made a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, touching Prince Charles on the arm while shaking his hand—a breach of royal protocol, and an appealingly human one at that. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2011 03 The A Team -1- MILLION SELLER 2011 35 Hush Little Baby (Wretch 32 feat. Born in Sydney in 1987, Lewis first took up the instrument at his father's urging at age 12, but only started to take it seriously in his late teens. “I spent all these years in my bedroom not thinking I was good enough,” Lewis told Apple Music. “It took a lot of people to say, ‘Oh, you’re good enough to do it.’” One of those people was Savage Garden’s former manager, whom Lewis, an Apple Music Up Next honoree, met at a boat party via a mutual friend. Upon hearing Lewis’ music, she helped land him a publishing deal. Hundreds of songs later—some of which went to artists such as Australian singer Taylor Henderson—Lewis released his debut single, “Waves,” in 2016. Imbued with James Blunt’s vocal vulnerability and Chris Martin’s knack for turning the everyday into a sweeping, affecting, relatable tune, “Waves” is a rumination on life becoming less exciting as you age. And it showcased his ability to land a killer blow in one line: “I watched my wild youth disappear in front of my eyes.” “That really personal style of writing is something I got from Bruce Springsteen,” he said. It’s on full display on his debut album, 2019’s A Place We Knew–the follow-up to his 2017 EP Same Kind of Different. Songs such as “7 Minutes” and “Be Alright” combine personal heartbreak with melodic, contemporary soft rock. “Ninety percent of the things I sing about are things that have happened to me,” he offers. “That’s how the songs connect.” - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2018 11 Be Alright -1- MILLIONAIRE 2019 100 Stay Awake -2- 2022 23 How Do I Say Goodbye -1- 0 x #1 | 0 x Top 5 | 0 x Top 10 | 0 x Top 20 | 2 x Top 40 | 3 x Top 100 Social Media Dean Lewis http://i.imgur.com/1SERq1f.png

Body positivity, queerness, the embrace of the self in all its possibilities: For her, the freer, the better. Yes, she’s a singer. And a rapper, and—wouldn’t you know it—a pretty impressive flautist. But she’s also an emblem for the idea that social progress starts from within, that her loving herself (and you loving you) is the first step to fighting the forces that keep marginalised people—Black, female, LGBTQ and otherwise—down. “I think that there’s a wave right now in human experience where we want to feel good, and we’re seeking out the practice of self-care and self-love,” she told Apple Music in 2020. “I think my music just happened to ebb and flow with the way we’re evolving as a people and a culture.” Born Melissa Jefferson in 1988, she grew up between Detroit and Houston, making her way through the Minneapolis indie community in her early twenties. She worked steadily through the 2010s, forging a confident, outsized blend of gospel, R&B, hip-hop and pop before breaking through with 2019’s Cuz I Love You. She could be funny (“I just took a DNA test/Turns out I’m 100% that bitch,” she raps at the beginning of “Truth Hurts”), vulnerable (“Cuz I Love You”), quirky (“Batches & Cookies”) and empowering (“Juice”). In every case, though, her music brings a muchness, a saturated sense of vibrancy and humour and soul and self-assuredness that just kinda makes you feel good. It’s hard to argue it when, upon accepting the 2019 Apple Music Award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year, she said emphatically, “I deserve it!” - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2019 38 Juice -1- 2019 29 Truth Hurts -2- 2019 70 Blame It On Your Love (Charli XCX feat. November 4, 20223 yr 'Monster Mash' finally making the top 40 for the first time since its original run we LOVE to see *.* + 'Ghostbusters' improving on its position from last year too, odd that 'Thriller' ended up falling behind 'Monster Mash' from the mids, I assume that must be around #41. Not yet heard that new Fred again.. song in full but sounded like another banger from a short clip I've heard, yay for that giving Fred another top 40, his rise to being a pretty consistent chart presence this year has been great to witness! Although a shame that 'Bleu (better with time)' didn't make the top 100. Hope the album should have held at #4. Just heard the Dean Lewis song the other day, it's not one I'll personally be returning to but a really well written song and can see why it has connected strongly with people.

Her career as a lyricist has seen her write and perform on stand out cuts like Angel D’Lite ‘Pleasure Xone 43’, M4A ‘Shades Of Red’, and with Cody Currie on the ‘Flame’ EP, cementing Eliza as a contemporary and future voice for the next rise of UK club culture, a sentiment dear to her heart. This is very much the start for Eliza with her debut EP currently in the works for later in the year, incorporating her electronic roots mixed with neo-soul and more. Early supporters for Eliza Rose already include Resident Advisor, The Face, Mixmag, DJ Mag, Vinyl Factory and more. - Apple Music Interplanetary Criminal Interplanetary Criminal’s contribution to the sound of UK garage has not gone unnoticed since his big breakthrough over lockdown. The producer first emerged in the 2010s, releasing a string of bangers merging shuffling beats with rough-edged melodies on labels such as E-Beamz and Kalahari Oyster Cult. Over time he's honed in on the UKG sound, turning heads in even the furthest corners of the globe. The Manchester-born DJ, producer and ATW Records label co-head is helping to further the resurgence of a genre that carries the weight of the UK on its back — a tribute to ‘90s dance music and some of the most prevalent club bangers that had Britain uniting on the dancefloor with its distinctive sound. In a new strain of UK garage, Interplanetary Criminal - real name Zach Bruce - brings that nostalgia back to club dwellers all over the UK, most notably in the city he was born and raised. “I feel like Manchester has always had an amazing scene with so many advocates for UK bass music,” says Zach when we chat to him from his home city. “There’s such an abundance of good music and producers. If you’re throwing a UKG party up here, it’s almost always gonna sell out.” Through his time on the scene, Zach has released through labels including Dansu Discs, Sneaker Social Club, and Shall Not Fade’s Time Is Now, and picked up even more traction through viral sets and raucous livestreams playing to boisterous, high-energy crowds. The producer pays homage to Manchester every bit of the way, and has helped to bring younger crowds through the doors to experience a genre that circulated clubs before they were born. Now playing tastemaker, Zach recently launched his own label, ATW, alongside close friend Main Phase seeing the UKG hopefuls and up-and-comers get their foot in the door. In a quick come-up post-lockdown, Interplanetary Criminal simply has fun with what he does, and that’s the beauty of his project. As strong a producer as he is a DJ, Zach’s homemade club stormers and charged-up crowd-pleasers are only ever certain to fill a dancefloor. - MixMag Top 100 Chart History Eliza Rose 2022 01 B.O.T.A. A classic songwriter - awarded a prestigious Ivor Novello for Songwriter of the Year in 2014 – relied on his passion more than ever when it came to crafting his new pop-leaning, emotionally-healing fourth album. The whirlwind around his debut had kickstarted a work ethic that became an obsession that culminated in crippling anxiety, leading to a dark period of mental health that stalked most of Odell’s 2018 and 19. Odell wrote his way through it, eventually letting down his guard and pouring out his feelings. These broader lyrical horizons needed to be matched by a musical expansion, with a lot of the songs on the new album leaning into a more DIY, electronic, bedroom pop sound. The love of this new direction chimed with the pandemic's arrival and songs were crafted in a more threadbare way around instruments he had at hand, like Moog synths. It was a move underpinned by both necessity and a desire to explore. Four albums into his career and Odell has made a record that feels free of expectation and of other people's perceptions of who he is as an artist. While darkness was the inspiration, this multi-layered, genre-bending pop album is full of light and hope, even in the strangest of times. - Spotify Top 100 Chart History 2012 10 Another Love -3- MILLIONAIRE 2013 67 Can't Pretend -1- 2013 44 Hold Me -2- 2013 46 Grow Old With Me -4- 2013 92 I Know -5- 2014 07 Real Love -NAS- 2016 40 Magnetised -1- 0 x #1 | 0 x Top 5 | 2 x Top 10 | 2 x Top 20 | 3 x Top 40 | 7 x Top 100 Social Media Tom Odell http://i.imgur.com/1SERq1f.png
