I decided to download the 23 track version on iTunes including the collabs, as Amazon refunded me for the CD while also letting me keep it (I don't know if that takes a sale off their tally or not though, so wanted to download it to support them regardless).

Amazon also let me keep the CD when I did my refund

I really like a lot of the 2.0 versions - I can get why some people are not as keen mind. The re-recordings feel fresh, although certainly with way more of a pop-punk theme rather than pop. I think someone earlier in this thread called it, if they decide to do another record you feel they could ride the wave of the pop-punk trend. It might alienate some of their core fans though, which I'm sure they are aware of, but feel they could very easily go down that trend if they wanted to.

I did think that about their next album… but after heading ‘Good One’ I’m not completely sure that is the direction they’ll go in!
I've just had an email from HMV about the whole pressing error debacle. I've emailed the supplier for a replacement copy so at least that's taken care of.
The only “re-recorded” song I’m not keen on is What I Go To School For! The rest are all pretty good!

Yeah. I think this is the one that’s not connecting with me the most. But it’s listenable and fine, I just think if I am to choose a version, it’ll be the OG for that one.

But the rest? I have no problems in playing over the OGs! Pretty impressed overall tbh. Thunderbirds Are Go was always a big fave for me (if not my fave!) but the new version feels like it packs a bit more oomf, or am I alone in that??

Number 1 in the first set of mids with 18k sold! Olivia Rodrigo is at #2 with 8k sold.

I hope it’s enough to secure them the number 1!

I reckon the sales might have been higher if the songs were the original versions instead of the new hits versions
18k is a fantastic start but I think it’s going to be a challenge holding off Olivia - she will trounce them on streaming, plus it seems like they underestimated demand - both versions of the vinyl are out of stock on their website, the red vinyl is sold out on Amazon, and all formats are listed as ‘back in stock soon’ on HMV…

They majorly underestimated the standard hits version! They recalled all the guest versions (for the reasons we know) but they only received a handful of the standard one for some bizarre reason! (Literally my store was sent about 5 copies - whereas below 30 for the guest version which they had to pull off from sale!)

Edit: and due to this, they had people asking if they had anything Busted for their signing!

They really should add some signed stuff to their stuff and get them dispatched! Also add a signed bundle or something!

^^ Honestly I can’t believe they haven’t done signed copies, I know they are selling them off cheap and are doing mammoth tour signings but they’ve literally had zero signed options online (aside from the signed photo/CD bundle for people that purchased the tour lanyard).

When they were fighting for #1 with the last album they kept continually adding signed CDs and Vinyl to their webstore.

They’ve even had to do a social media post telling people what places still have stock of the vinyl :drama:

Could be something as simple as supply issues. Did I hear someone say they've self released this album as well? Probably might be why there is seemingly a lot of logistical issues.

Read an article they did for Kerrang, but makes me very inclined to think they will go down the pop punk route for their next album. Was a really nice reflective article about the music industry and it's great to see them all so much happier now too. They are very right that 20 years ago the music genre bands were very linear, whereas now they've definitely blurred and it's "cool" to like pop music in the way that you'd be seen as a snob if you liked anything that even had a hint of being manufactured too. I feel some of the festivals were like this as well, but they've opened up their bookings too.

They may do something before the week ends if they sense a threat to losing the Number 1.

They did it!! They managed to get a number 1 album and it’s so fitting that it was their Greatest Hits that did it

Really hope we get a Busted album sales breakdown!

Yay! We have full album totals (even for Live: A Ticket for Everyone!)

1,235,269 Busted - Busted

1,160,719 Busted - A Present for Everyone

492,159 Busted - Live: A Ticket for Everyone

65,583 Busted - Night Driver

40,474 Busted - Half Way There

27,319 Busted - Greatest Hits 2.0

Brilliant opening sales for the GH! I think they'll have a stronger 2nd week than people expect (i.e. not a fall straight out of the top 40 for example). Will see what the signings will do for them this weekend I guess!
