Posted November 15, 20222 yr It’s rumoured that Gambler will be released to download and stream on 9th December! :o It would be the first time it’s been available digitally (apart from it being on the Vision Quest soundtrack, which is on iTunes, however it has to be bought in full if you wanted to own Gambler). As a single it’s only ever been available on vinyl formats released in 1985. I guess it must be one of very few hit singles released within the last 40 years to have 100% of its sales be vinyl. So that could be set to change from December!
November 15, 20222 yr It has been on Madonna’s YouTube channel since 2018 so must have picked up, albeit a tiny number, some video streams. Still, it’ll be great to finally have this on digital platforms (I didn’t realise it wasn’t available to download individually!). I have a big soft spot for Gambler, it’s just a fun energetic bop. Love that “you can’t stop me now” verse. I assume it’ll be released as part of an EP like the other old Madonna singles that have been released to digital platforms in recent years, in which case I wonder if it could reach #1 on iTunes album chart?

December 9, 20222 yr I don't think I'd ever even heard this track before today, it's not on any of the Madonna albums or compilations I own, or obviously on any playlists, so it was a bit of a blind spot in my knowledge. I must have assumed I knew it. It's a great track, enjoying it a lot.

December 9, 20222 yr Just had a listen. Always loved this song and always thought it a shame it had been left out of so much when celebrating her career. Glad it's storming up iTunes, even if it does still only mean a few sales.
