)

Three-in-Ten: 3

((They Long To Be) Close To You, Please Mr Postman, Top Of The World)

Round 1: 12/13? (missed

'Reasons To Be Cheerful, Part 3' (-3/-2? I knew what song it was but I had only recalled 'Reasons To Be...' before the contestant said it, although I think I'd have said 'Happy' rather than 'Cheerful'), 'Sometimes' (-3), The Fortunes (-6), 1979 (-3), 'Sunrise' (-3), 'Set Me Free' (-6), Whitney Houston (-3)

)

Round 2: 27 (missed

Richard Marx (-3), 1973 (-3), 'Good Morning Britain' (-3), 'I Get The Sweetest Feeling' (-3)

)

3 in 10: 2/3 (

'Calling Occupants Of Interplanetary Craft', '(They Long To Be) Close To You'

) - took me a while to remember the actual title of the latter song which wasted time, nevermind x

1 year late for the first year and a casual 14 years late for the second (I can explain...

I always get Simon Park Orchestra mixed up with Steve Miller Band for some reason so I was trying to remember the year of the SMB/Deee-Lite chart battle, although I was 3 years out for that too

)

I thought that second bonus round was going to be disastrous for me but then managed to get all 3 of them!

Round 1: 33 - didn't get

Round 2: 33 - didn't get

1973 (guessed 74), Aztec Camera

Oop I did the Monday and Tuesday ones last night but forgot to post them so triple update x

Monday:

Round 1: 12 (missed

Bros (-6), 'James Dean' (-3), 1971 (-3), Bad Manners (-3), 'King Of Wishful Thinking' (-3), Hot Chocolate (-6), Dave Edmunds (-3)

)

Round 2: 12/13? (missed

Chuck Berry (-6), Faces (-3), 'Turn On, Tune In, Cop Out' (-3/-2? I said 'Tune In, Dream On, Drop Out', I knew what it was but forgot the specific name lol, partly mixing its title up with a similarly named old Séyetana BJSC entry), 2005 (-3), Joan Armatrading (-3), De La Soul (-6), 'I Wonder Why' (-3)

)

3 in 10: 2/3 (

'I Don't Like Mondays', 'Rat Trap'

)

15 years late for the first year (I have no excuse this time x), 1 year late for the second (that was an annoying one). A couple of annoying misses in this round, my brain was not engaging properly x

in particular I misheard the Hot Chocolate question as him saying it was an act with only 2 top 20 hits in total rather than just in that year, otherwise I'd have possibly guessed Hot Chocolate as they're kind of my go-to guess for that era lmao. Should have known the Daniel Bedingfield and Go West songs too and maybe also De La Soul

Tuesday:

Round 1: 18 (missed

Bryan Ferry (-3), Argent (-6), Genesis (-3), either 'Kisses Sweeter Than Wine' artist (-6), 'Wide Eyed And Legless' (-3)

)

Round 2: 30 (missed

Big Mountain (-3), 1992 (-3), either 'Strange Little Girl' artist (-3)

)

3 in 10: 3/3 (

'Back In Black', 'For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)', 'Highway To Hell'

)

5 years late for the second year. Think I should have been able to get 36 on the second round but I'd never have got the last question so even the theoretical 39 remains elusive, still yay for a rare dip into the 30s x

Wednesday:

Round 1: 21 (missed

Fiddler's Dram (-3), 1997 (-3), Madness (-6), 'Alone Without You' (-3), any Archie Bell & The Drells song (-3)

)

Round 2: 21 (missed

Goldeneye (-3), Steve Harley (-6), 'Never Never' (-3), Laurel & Hardy (-6)

)

3 in 10: 3/3 (

'Under The Bridge', 'Pure Shores', 'Black Coffee'

) -

I actually originally wrote down 'Lady Marmalade' instead of 'Black Coffee' but caught myself that that was a double A-Side with 'Under The Bridge' within a couple of seconds thankfully!

2 years early for the first year, got the second one with a lucky guess.

Madness was the most annoying miss as I knew I knew it but couldn't identify it before the contestant said the answer - was proud of myself managing to recall the A Flock Of Seagulls and The Rolling Stones titles though, plus Keith Emerson's first name and a bit of an educated guess at Bobby Brown, so overall pretty happy with my showing today

)

3 in 10: 3/3 (

'Lucille', 'Coward Of The County', 'Islands In The Stream'

) - snap songs and same order as Jade x

2 years early for the second year.

Beyoncé

saving me from a total wipeout on round 2 :lol: Very tough questions today though, I wasn't really kicking myself at any of the ones I missed

bar maybe S'Express which sounded vaguely familiar and perhaps should have guessed from context - which was the only reason I got Andrew Gold in round 1 as it happens
