Be interesting to see where Wham! are on tomorrow's midweek chart - I'm guessing about number 25.

Wham! are bound to be in the chart this coming Friday as well as they were number 42 on Friday just gone.
just got home from my towns christmas light switch on so im all here for mariah top 20 alrwady! I know chances are slim but i really hope Taylor's christmas tree farm makes the top 40 this year finally!
I don't think we see hardly new tracks entering the charts now as the Xmas tracks will start infesting the chart. Until a few weeks before Christmas when a few artists might release a new Xmas single someone like Baddiel & Skinner / Ed Sheeran etc etc  A climber will take it in the new year most likely.... for example Meghan Trainor
I can understand Kate Bush being given a reset as that reached #1 because of it. Without the reset, she wouldn’t’ve gone to #1. I don’t see the point in songs being given a reset if they have already peaked. With "Mockingbird", I dont see that repeaking as it already peaked at #4 back in 2005. If I saw a former #1 getting a reset due to TikTok, I’d think what’s the point? It’s peaked and what do you want to achieve? A few extra weeks in the top 40?

Well I can’t imagine it’s too difficult to ask the OCC for a reset, so why wouldn’t they?

Taylor is due for ACR on 30th December if she keeps declining which she most likely will due to the Xmas songs taking over

Another love is more popular than ever

10 years ago it was barely a 1 week thing

Now its become so huge it could have easily repeaked any week in the last few

Would Taylor most likely get a reset after the Christmas songs clear out though?

I thought it’s normally two weeks later. It’s unusual for a song to get a reset the week after they’ve gone ACR. By then, Sam Smith would more likely have their next single out and if they release the Ed Sheeran collab next, I can see that going #1

Well, it's not like he's gonna get weeks in the top 40 with anything else in his lifetime is it?

If you’re on about Tom Odell, he has a new album out and he could easily promote some of the songs on his album. He also did the song for the John Lewis advert in 2014 which was a hit

The streaming era has proved time again that anyone can have another hit if the stars happen to align. Meghan Trainor has currently got her first top 10 in years, Elton etc etc... there's no reason that Tom Odell shouldn't have a big hit with new material it's just unlikely.

The resurgence in streams for Another Love (and any other track) will be reflected in year end and all time lists where anything counts irrespective of limits and rules in the main singles chart. It hovering around the top 40 for weeks on end never bound to re-peak achieves nothing except potentially block something at #41 one week from reaching a milestone. Whereas 505 (I know I use this example a lot but its the first one that comes to mind) been given a reset would have allowed it to reach a drastically higher peak position.

Nice to see NOW Christmas get its first ever week at the top of the compilation chart. If it had those sales in week 1, it would’ve got two weeks at the top of the compilation chart and denied TGS an extra week at the top
lol if someone think Tom Odell not having more hits in 2022 is cos he's not promoting lol find a new hobby than commenting on music websites
Celestial remains the best thing Ed has put out in ages.

Yeh since ‘Shivers’!

You'd think a 12k lead would be more than enough, looking forward to seeing the actual sales.

‘Midnights’ was on 8k last monday in the mids so he could be 18-20k if Dermot is 12k ahead!
