No, it got into the top 40 before the album's release as an instant grat. It's remained there primarily as a result of the Amazon exclusive orchestral version, which is being played by Alexa as a Christmas song on their festive playlists.

The Amazon orchestral "Christmas" version of 'Firebabe' was released on the same day as the album version wasn't it? The album release did give the non-Amazon version a slight second lease of life (actually gave it a new peak on Spotify of #50, having got #55 the day it came out) but it only lasted a week, it hasn't been in the top 200 since the end of November. Admittedly crowded out by Christmas songs but I would be pretty surprised if it returned to the top 200 tomorrow.

 

But yeah. Whether or not you personally consider it a Christmas song (I don't either fwiw) has no bearing on the clear objective fact that its chart run has been wildly inflated by the orchestral version being on Amazon's Christmas playlists.
