This week, Mariah Carey has broken a record that has been held since 1953. "All I Want For Christmas Is You" is now the longest-running top 10 single in the history of the UK Singles Chart. It has now spent 36 weeks in the top 10, overtaking "I Believe" by Frankie Laine's 35 weeks.

Congratulations, Mariah!

Sorry, but this record is meaningless when you take streaming & Christmas songs into account. #SorryNotSorry :coffee:

Or perhaps more impressive that it's proved itself to be arguably even more popular almost 30 years on than it was when it came out!

It's a great achievement and richly deserved for such an iconic song imo *.*

It was never a perennial top 10 returner until Michael's death in 2016 fom memory.

Other than Xmas songs that list is basically either 50s or recent songs.

Ah I see! I looked on the official charts website and only saw 23 weeks as the single song

And at the bottom of your list,

21 - The Beatles - She loves you (1963)

It was never a perennial top 10 returner until Michael's death in 2016 fom memory.
