Yay Maisie!

So happy to see her in your Year-End list, I'm sure this'll be the only time I see her. There is no way she'll be in the Year-End singles list (of course, that was sarcasm from me )

#16. HOLY FVCK - Demi Lovato

Demi returned with a fully rock era this year. Lead single SKIN OF MY TEETH had a long run, peaking at #6 twice with 10 weeks between peaks! All 16 songs from the album charted in release week, making it one of the biggest album bombs on my chart, and though the majority dropped out the next week leaving it lacking the longevity of the other big album bombs of Red (Taylor's Version) and Midnights, it did have 2 big hits from it, including a very-near #1 with 29. That battle will go down in my chart history for how close it was and by the end of the week, 1 singular stream separated the top 2! I'm just glad that Demi is doing good and making the music they want to make!

#15: Everything I Didn't Say - Ella Henderson

Ella's 2nd studio album earlier this year did quite poorly, considering a string of dance hits for her. It did decently on my chart, with a few songs having some decent chart runs! And with a recent deluxe release including the dance collabs of recent years, it pushes the album into the EOY albums top 20 as single 'Crazy What Love Can Do', which got to #1 now contributes to the album, as well as songs like Bad News, which just about made the top 10 and What About Us which became a post-album minor, but long running, hit under strange circumstances (I heard it in Home Sense, shazamed it and then had put it back on my playlist for about 10 weeks )

I've decided to change it to a top 200 because i have 500+ songs that have charted at some stage this year so 200 feels like itll be a better representation!

Since theres 14 albums left, and 14 days before i start the countdown, ill do one album a day!

Love Sux - Avril Lavigne

Red (Taylor's Version) - Taylor Swift

Joining in with some of us doing a top 200. We love to see it *.*

I was supposed to have checked out Demi's album in full and had only just recently got my way through a few more songs but it's to be completed soon as it's sounding like a great album from them!

#14: = - Ed Sheeran

This album did come out in late 2021, though surprisingly all of its big hits did well this year! Lead single Bad Habits flopped on my charts, and Shivers had a decent lower region run, but 2022 was the year for =. Shivers began the year reaching a new peak of #7 and has since gone on to spend 25 weeks on chart, the 5th longest running song on the chart ever! This was quickly followed up with Eds first of 2 #1s of the year; The Joker And The Queen featuring Taylor Swift. He then had another #1 featuring on Camila Cabello's Bam Bam and a minor hit on Ishawna's Brace It, as well as another long running #7 peaking single called 2step! And, after seeing him in concert in wembley that gave a big boost to the album, pushing it well into the Top 20 albums of the year!

18.02.22 | 37 Peru (w/ Fireboy DML)

29.04.22 | 7 2step

03.06.22 | 43 I Will Remember You

I did like = but it wasn't a patch on x or Divide for me I must admit! He's picked the singles well though.

#13: The Greatest Thing I'll Never Learn - Dylan

Dylan has been on my radar since late 2021, where her song You're Not Harry Styles got added to my playlist. Then, when I got Ed Sheeran tickets and saw her as a support act I listened to her more and her single 'Girl Of Your Dreams' reached #1. The album was blocked from #1 on albums by Taylor's Midnights, but singles wise it did fairly well for a mixtape, with 3 top 10s! Looking forward to more things from Dylan next year!

From your album of the year contenders, I like "Midnights", "i used to think i could fly", "Red (Taylor's Version)" and "Familia".

#12: Sonder - Dermot Kennedy

Dermot Kennedy's sophmore album era kicked off last July with single Better Days, which spent 3 weeks atop my singles chart. This year 2nd single Something To Someone reached #3. In any ordinary week he could've had the #1 locked in but he released in a very busy week with Taylor Swift & Maisie Peters also releasing in the same week! 3rd Single Kiss Me followed up Better Days reaching the top for a singular week! Unfortunately, the album was very underwhelming compared to his incredible debut Without Fear, as well as push backs and drama with management vs. fans putting a sour taste in my mouth about it. Despite all these hurdles, the album did reach #2 on the albums, pipped to the post only by the Unstoppable Midnights, and i'm sure when I revisit it in the new year there will be a song that takes off!

"Sonder" has actually the only Dermot Kennedy #1 song on my charts, that being "Kiss Me", which is also my favourite song from him, good album.

You should expect some Dylan in my EOY as well! I've not heard the album though. Maybe another one I should check out.

Hey Rob! I'm looking forward to seeing Dylan in your EOY! Surprisingly for me, her #1 hit girl of your dreams is actually looking like its gonna be lower than 2 of her other hits :o I think the album is nice, blue and blisters are my two faves!
