Defo, it helped clear any I'll feelings and I think it made them realise their mistakes plus how much loved steps really were.

Yeah i only checked the forum chart again this morning to see where it had landed - pleasantly surprised to see it at #2! The power of the forever underrated smash After The Love Has Gone

If done right and pop bangers it could work but I'd prefer a non Christmas album if given the choice.

  • A new album is very very much needed from our beloved Steps.

I wish steps had albums included in the hmv anniversary vinyl releases.

I don't think they will ever be that kind of act sadly. They have had a super successful comeback but they are definitely in a niche bracket.

If it’s ok with the mods I’ll start the Steps Singles World Cup after the What The Future Holds album track poll as I’ll possibly include the winner.

Go for it!

I'm happy for you to do it this week, hopefully it will give us an advantage over the other forums who will also have the AF Idol posts going on!

That is, will start it later in the week. I’m going to try one or two things differently to the LM one, so I’ll start with a qualification vote for some songs.

I don't think we mentioned these July anniversaries:

22 years ago - 11th July 1999 - Love's Got a Hold on My Heart

21 years ago - 3rd July 2000 - When I Said Goodbye/Summer of Love

Yeah I can't get used to some of my favourite artists/singles/albums being 20+ years ago! :( Feels like that time really flew by.

It's crazy that the Tears on the Dancefloor era began almost 4 and a half years ago, when you consider that the release of 5,6,7,8 to their split was only a little over 4 years. Their 97-01 heyday felt like it lasted a long time, and by the time they split, singles like 5,6,7,8 felt ancient to me. Yet Scared of the Dark still feels pretty recent  This is one of the unfortunate aspects of getting older, I suppose...!

Scared of the dark and the tears on the dancefloor album only feel like they are 2 years old maximum, now they are back there is a part of that feels they never went away although they had been gone for years.

Agree completely! Back then it always felt like ages between albums for me but really it was only a year.

I was completely surprised how quick we are getting this new album and with their anniversary coming we know we will get something else without a huge gap.
