Enjoyed the performance but also a shame there wasn’t new material included. Nice to see both songs charting (and a sale is a sale :p)

Hope you enjoyed @Jessie Where ?

Yeah i only checked the forum chart again this morning to see where it had landed - pleasantly surprised to see it at #2! The power of the forever underrated smash After The Love Has Gone

Yeah, considering Stepsworld is pretty inactive at the moment, it’s wonderful seeing so much activity week by week! And @Spiceboy and I may have more things to keep the forum busy coming up very soon

This time 27 years ago heartbeat was hitting the charts and tragedy was just essentially a b side that hadn't captured people's attention as of yet, little did we know what a monster size hit was coming

Oh I remember that time. Heartbeat was what was being played on the tv, I don't think radio played it over here. Then it was like someone flicked a switch days after Christmas and the tv channels moved to Tragedy and radios started playing it too.

Me too! Such an important part of their career. It was also a nice hit in Europe/Australia and NZ ❤️

Tragedy just took off when radios flicked over to it, looking back the label were off the mark pushing heartbeat as the main song but it all worked out very well in the end.

I’m happy it did as it was an important part of cementing themselfs as one of the biggest pop acts at the time ❤️

Ya i think it put them in a new league and also brought the name Steps more familiar to alot of people who may not have followed them or known them aswell before hand.

I think that iconic music video and dance routine certainly helped as well.

Totally agree it all helped towards the huge success of the song.

If tragedy was the same sized hit in the streaming era its numbers would be huge.

Happy New Year to all my fellow buzzjack Steps fans.

Hope a great year lies ahead for you all and thank you for making it another enjoyable year in the Steps forum.

Wishing you all great success in 2026.

Happy New Year everyone!

Wishing you all the best for 2026.

May it be filled with love, good health and good times!

The live band at the New Year's Eve party I was at last night played 5,6,7,8!

The crowd were singing along to it! It was brilliant to see.

Thanks and ofcourse all the best for you guys as well ❤️

Great and happy people still play/remember the song over there.

Thanks. It was quite the pleasant surprise!

5,6,7,8 while so different to everything else from them still remains one of their most known songs, and to think they were heavily marked heavily as a one off novelty single act when it was out.

I see in the chart forum Tragedy managed a gold certification last week which i assume its down to its digital sales tally only, i think combined with the original physical it would have to be on 1.5 million or close by now.
