oh my Rune out on day 1

after he complained so much at not playing in the big stadiums for his debut

Sakari and Felix also out

One is about to go out in Round 2 but great to see a clean sweep of straight set wins from all 7 British players in round 1

I am hoping Draper does not get injured (again)

Andy Murray believes he is playing his best tennis since a career-saving hip operation as he prepares to face old rival Grigor Dimitrov in the US Open second round.

Murray, 36, is one of six British players aiming to reach round three at Flushing Meadows on Thursday.

Cameron Norrie, Dan Evans, Jack Draper, Katie Boulter and Jodie Burrage also play on day four of the tournament.

Seventh seed Stefanos Tsitsipas suffered a shock defeat by qualifier Dominic Stricker in the second round of the US Open.

World number 128 Stricker came out on top of a four-hour epic 7-5 6-7 (2-7) 6-7 (5-7) 7-6 (8-6) 6-3.

Tsitsipas and Ruud out yesterday

Katie Boulter and Jack Draper reached the US Open third round as they began another action-packed day for the British contingent with superb wins.

Boulter, who is Britain's top women's player, maintained confidence and composure to fight back against China's Wang Yafan in a 5-7 6-1 6-4 win.

Draper put his injury problems behind him with a statement 6-2 6-4 7-5 win over Polish 17th seed Hubert Hurkacz.

Really hoping Jack Draper has a couple more wins in him at least

why Djokovik has always the easiest run to the finals, even know when he's not even #1

and so lucky, all the top players in his side fell already (Rune, Ruud, Tsitsipas), it's gonna be almost too easy for him to reach the final

Well if those so-called top players all lost to worse players, then Novak would have eaten them for breakfast anyway.
Great to see Jack Draper through to the fourth round, I hope the period of him being injured and having to pull out frequently is behind him. Rublev will be tough but he's beaten a few top players before and regardless of how the next match goes, it's progress for him and he's the last Brit standing in the men's draw.
