Hey Kath, hope you've had a good start to the year. Incredible to see PinkPantheress' commanding the entire Top 3 and “Boy’s A Liar” at #1.

 

Great also to see Pretty Girl in the Top 5, I rly enjoyed her Boiler Room set- “Only If U” (the X Club/Kathaldazia collab) has been a great winter club anthem for me and I'll def be charting “Nice To See You” very soon, her only other major hit so far for me was “Arc” in summer '21. I'm also quite enjoying the new Villager single that dropped over Christmas, I saw that they had a track played in salute's recent Boiler Room set.

 

However my favourite entry of the week has to be:

They have been absolutely killing it recently, “God Is a Circle” is so SO good. I love the video too, it's Hemingway directing like it was for “Secrecy Is Incredibly Important To The Both Of Them”. <3 What we need now tho, is an album!

Ooh a really good trio of new entries here (+ the re-entry from The Blessed Madonna) - Men I Trust are very inconsistent for me but 'Billie Toppy' is an absolute vibe and a half that I've been loving for quite a while now so great to see that making a late impression here. Just heard the Yves Tumor track the other day and I think it's instantly my favourite song to date from them :heart:

 

I still need to hear 'Take me home' but enjoying the other two new PinkPantheress tracks, 'Boy's a liar' being my fave of the two so yass at that one returning her to the UK charts. Also love to see the big climbs and new peaks for RAYE and Lana! <3

I came across the Men I Trust track through Jade's chart and it's belatedly clicked with me now! I love guitar chord progression and layering in it :wub: I haven't checked out much of their other music though.

 

God Is a Circle is my fave Yves track in a while! The gasping alone *.*

 

I'd rate all 3 PinkPantheress tracks as a 9 or 10! Gutted a full LP isn't on the way. 'Take me home' has some fab D&B production and relatable/funny lyrics about not being able to grow up, missing rent payments

I was super happy to see how well "Only If U" was doing on your chart! I've tired a bit of it now but it's had a decent run for me. I'm glad you checked out Pretty Girl's Boiler Room and that you're enjoying "Nice To See You" - the Boiler Room performance of that elevated it even more for me. I love how bouncy and swervy the production is.

 

Cool to see another poster here who has Villager on their radar! That makes me, you and uhsting now I think. The EP is great!

 

I'm gonna have to check out that video for "God Is a Circle". I checked the song out after seeing it in your chart. I've been getting into more indie guitar music recently

Some amazing new entries this week! I have to mention my current #1 'God is a Circle' first, of course *.* it really stood out to me with its unique structure, general darkness and the effective heavy breathing throughout. 'Wish' is lush as well and 'Billie Toppy' is my favourite Men I Trust single since 'Lauren' (my debut Nuggets winner!), a very addictive post-punk sound.

 

Here for the 'Water' and 'Strong' climbs too, especially that massive rebound for the former *.*
