Ah I'm glad someone made a thread for Yellowjackets. The best thing on tv right now and the wait for season two feels like forever.

The trailer isn't giving that much away but it looks like their first Winter in the wild will be the main storyline (at least in the 1996 timeline), I can't wait!!!

Loved the first season, I've always loved Lord of the Flies and twisting the story to give it a Lost-esque premise is quite the genius idea. Great performances (Christina Ricci especially!) I like how characters gradually unravel in both timelines so they look like very different people by the end of the series.

Still feels like so much mystery to unpack though, the trailer doesn't really give anything away.

Gah how are we going to watch this in the UK? It feels like so much is moving to Paramount that Sky previously held the rights to :(

Taking full advantage of my paramount+ sub on amazon prime with this

I'm surprised there's not more discussion on this! Maybe if it was on Netflix but It's so good, I'm absolutely hooked! It's the first thing in ages I've properly binged, I'm a couple of episodes into season two atm but I think there's only four out at the moment, they must be uploading weekly but I'm not sure what day

I have a lot of thoughts but I'll try and keep them generalised/vague and just for season one as icba spoiler tagging, I realise a lot of people won't be caught up

I think it's quite difficult to warm to the characters but I guess that just makes them all the more interesting and complex to watch as things unravel and your opinions change etc. Van has been my fave since the get go and Nat (moreso 1996). Taissa is a favourite as well but that's been more gradual, I think as we see her being more vulnerable and showing a softer side to herself in both timelines that's when you really root for her. Shauna is kinda irritating, in both timelines as well, idk why exactly, maybe just because she's always acting like she's the most hard done by and that everything should be centered around her. Jackie wasn't the most likeable either, she definitely had a selfish/petty side but Shauna was a real shitty friend to her  Jury is still out on Lottie as I want to like her but she's annoying me with the whole visions thing, I feel like that plotline in general is a bit ??? I do like Ben and Travis tho but funny how the latter only really cares about

Javi once he's gone missing,

he barely even looked at him before  Misty is a great character, she's annoying as well but she's meant to be, Christina Ricci is fab as adult her.

Episode 2 of season 2 is a hard watch, like it has nothing on the crash episode or

Van's wolf attack

. I'm having to take a break from it before I watch any more episodes as idk if I'm mentally prepared  I'm not big on gorey things which this series has quite a bit of. I understand why they're showing things like that though as it emphasises the reality of what they had to deal with plus we're meant to understand how awful it was before it's revealed "what really happened out there?" Which is the whole premise of the series I guess. 02×02 surely has to be the worst of what they've had to do though, if it's not I dread to think what's next!

There's a big plot hole I'm a bit frustrated with so I'm hoping they fill that in but how can

Javi be alive, two months into the same winter that killed Jackie overnight?

Also who is the girl at the beginning of 01×01 who we see being hunted? I'm guessing it's one of the other lesser known group members

I. just watched the last episode for the second time and I can't stop crying. That scene of Shauna breaking the fourth wall, omg. My favourite performances so far from Sophie Nelisse and Simone Kessel. Incredible, deffos a step up from the past few episodes.

I think that episode came just at the right time as the plot was starting to dip but I agree, Sophie Nelisse was outstanding, the next episode looks like it's going to be amazing so I think the events in the last episode was a real turning point, absolutely no idea where they're going to take it next but that's what I love about this show!!

Coach is probably gonna die soon which I'm kinda sad about as I like his character but there's really not been much to him this season so they may as well

eat him

I guess

Afraid we're waiting until it's all available before watching this so I can't help with the real time chatter :(

We did like Season 1, albeit I felt too many of the characters died one way or another. Will be interested to see where it goes in this season, I feel like it will either grow into something I really love or it will potentially lose me altogether. I'm not sure why but my gut feel about season 1 was that they didn't have a clear idea of the overarching plot line... but we'll see...

Season two is a step up imo like you start to see seeds planted in season one develop more, I almost forgot that the main plot of the first season was them being blackmailed

There's definitely a lot more character development, like I've gone from finding a lot of them annoying at first to really loving all of the main ones, there's a lot of depth to them that we start to see more into as well

Argh this isn't what I would have wanted to say, after being so hyped about the show following the great Season 1, but alas for the most part I didn't enjoy most of this 2nd season. :( I'll try and gather some thoughts together soon, but I think it's a bit too late in the night for this task!

One positive comment I'll say now is that the scene when Shauna

was informed her baby had died

was pretty incredible. Very bleak of course, but Sophie Nelisse's acting was incredible!

I have to agree, it felt like lots of build up for… not much? There were definitely great, pivotal moments but I don’t think it lived up to the high standard set by S1. It feels like a lot of it is setting up for the future so maybe S3 will be better?

I did also see a huge spoiler for the shock in the finale the day it aired before I could watch it so maybe the finale didn’t feel as great due to that

omg, that makes me sad you guys didn't enjoy it! I feel the complete opposite (ofc) and thought season two was even better than the first, the pacing felt a lot better, there was so much going on but it didn't feel rushed either, I think there's a lot of depth to everything that you maybe don't think of initially. I've been engrossed in so many fan theories etc tho so maybe that's why but I genuinely can't stop thinking about it! I think the adult plot felt a lot more fleshed out but also has Taissa just forgot about her wife and child?!

I thought

Nat was going to die

just because they hadn't really done a lot with her character in this season in the adult timeline and the previous episode basically foreshadowed it in the 1996 timeline but I didn't expect it to happen how it did, I genuinely was shocked as I assumed it would happen

in a hunt mirroring the one she escaped in the wilderness, to have Misty accidentally kill her is just

Lottie has quickly became my favourite character, at least out of the adults. Van's character has had the most drastic change I think personality wise but I very much believe that's intentional for what they have planned in season three. I saw a theory that reckons she's going to be a silent villain and

she knew someone would have to die to cure her cancer

so manipulated Tai so that Lottie's plan went ahead etc

I think they've set up Callie to have a crucial role next season as well which I'm excited for, some people think

the wilderness is now part of her and possibly Lisa. It was a crucial parallel having Nat save her when she didn't save Javi.

I'm really gonna miss Nat but I'm glad we've still got

Sophie Thatcher  Sophie Nelisse was incredible during those scenes, Samantha Hanratty has been great as well, such a well cast show on the whole tbh

I think the amount of possibilities that could happen is what's got me obsessed, I'm super excited to see the direction they're gonna go in, there's so many possibilities. I'm hoping they get enough seasons out of this that they can run a timeline that shows the aftermath of their rescue like just after it, how they were returning to normal life etc

I read somewhere there's gonna be 5 seasons but idk if that's legit? If so we could potentially get the immediate aftermath since they were stranded for like two years that could easily be wrapped up by the end of the next season or two?

Anyone else still crying at the season 2 finale? Just gave it a second time and woah, what a sucker punch.

I know this season wasn't perfect, but it still had its highs for me: Jackie being snackie, Crystal's leap of faith??, the whole of episode 6. I've found I am absolutely in love with the 1996/7 timeline and my favourite memories are from that and the present day timeline just falls flat, it felt so disconnected and they should've reunited sooner I think. Would've loved more time with them as a six together.

The performances (especially the Sophies) and the music choices this year have been 10/10 though. I can't fault them for that, it's the writing that's just felt off, especially compared to the masterpiece of season 1.

I agree they should have reunited sooner, I would have loved to see more of the dynamic between adult Lottie and Nat especially
