Relax ex-EU member. The man is doing a hard job for us.

 thank you!

I know some of the artists in this thread are certainly at odds with each other, but it’s difficult to know where to draw the line with who to include or exclude. There’s just so many male acts particularly in rock music.

I find the females thread easier because literally every female duo/group I can think of is included in it, yet it’s not too overwhelming.

I’ll think again about which artists should be included in this thread.

As for the title / subtitle, there’s a limited amount of space to convey what the thread is about!

Pretty disappointing to see the rudeness here over what is essentially semantics when Jay's provided such an informative resource. Thanks for the hard work!!
I can't believe Westlife's "When You're Looking Like That" was not a top 100 single. It sounds so familiar and was played all the time on the radio back when it came out. I was certain it was one of their biggest hits.

If I recall it was pencilled in a UK release in the summer of 01 but then just vanished from the release schedules and it was originally thought to be a double a side with "Queen of my heart" but when it was eventually released it ended up as a b side.

31st May:

Westlife - Hello My Love (Platinum) [single]

7th June:

Brockhampton - Bleach (Silver) [single]

Take That - Everything Changes (Gold) [single]

Westlife - Greatest Hits (3xPlatinum) [Album]

Everything Changes was certified Silver in April 1994. Apparently its total sales by the end of 1994 were 367,000, although it would have eventually been given a downgraded total... I'm not sure what to. It's taken a while to get to Gold anyway!

Updated!

Year 3000 by Busted certified 2xPlatinum a couple of weeks ago. Its journey to that certification:

160,000 sales in 2003

22.07.2013 - Silver (this was the date that certifications became automatic, so it likely sold 200k some time before this date)

07.04.2017 - Gold

21.06.2019 - Platinum

03.01.2025 - 2xPlatinum

If it sold precisely 600,000 sales since 21st June 2019, that's an average of 2,062 sales per week - which works out to 107,000+ sales a year.

Awesome and timely news given they've just got another tour on sale!

I'm assuming the J15 anniversary edition of the album released last November has counted towards this happening?

@-Jay-

"What Makes You Beautiful" by One Direction is now certified 4x Platinum in the UK, making it the first song by a boyband to achieve a quadruple platinum certification here.

@-Jay-

Would you class Hot Chelle Rae as a boyband? They've just got their first ever UK cerification. Their single "Tonight Tonight" was certified Silver.
