Yep, 'Glue Song' was added on Friday.

Can't tell if that Lil Uzi Vert remix is actually an official release or not - they're taking a while to get it taken down and/or get an official version out if not but it does look a bit unauthorised (no label listed on the upload). It's all the way up to #14 on US Spotify!

In any case it appears to be a remix of an unreleased snippet/leak from a few years ago. Curious.

Hooray for PinkPantheress' top version dethroning Miley now *.* and wow Lizzy just keeps on going, hopefully another future top 10 contender.

I would guess it's official - firstly because I think the "sped up nightcore" artist is used for official releases, and secondly because its ISRC has Atlantic Records' label code ("US-AT2-23-01358"; by comparison 'Just Wanna Rock' is "US-AT2-22-19211").

I was under the impression 'sped up nightcore' was just a random third party YouTube channel! (Although that ISRC code does look legit so I think you're right, but weird that the label name isn't actually listed if so)

edit: also the releases on the 'sped up nightcore' "artist" page are super weird. Very inconsistent formatting and several of them do not credit the original artists on them at all. Interestingly that includes a version of 'Bloody Mary' - so if that actually is an official release, it not crediting Lady Gaga may well have cost the song a higher peak!

It is weird - when I first saw the "sped up nightcore" artist I assumed it was unofficial uploads, but eventually saw it enough times on official-looking releases that I figured it must be a label creation. I would guess the artist crediting depends on whether they want the song to appear on the artist's page - perhaps some artists' management would rather not have these clogging up their pages so this is a convenient place to put them instead. Granted, they could achieve almost the same thing by crediting the artists as just features so they'd only appear in the "appears on" section with all the assorted compilations.

There are a couple similar 'artists' that I think are equivalents for other labels, like "sped up + slowed" (seemingly used by Sony), "Sped Up Songs + Nightcore" (Warner) and "Speed Radio" (Universal).

For 'Bloody Mary'... I see there's this one which credits "sped up nightcore" (as well as "Farizki"), but it's actually a different "sped up nightcore" presumably imitating the 'real thing' (this one only has 567k monthly listeners whereas the main one has 11.1m), and it looks entirely unofficial to me. However, the sped-up 'Bloody Mary' credited to "sped up viral" has an official-looking ISRC from Universal (and has 7 million plays). The other 3 releases on the "sped up viral" page are random unofficial things released in the 2 months since 'Bloody Mary', so perhaps Universal decided to start a new page but in the absence of further releases, other people are trying to stake a claim to it?

Chat GPT when I asked for some clarification between record sales and chart units…. The answer is interesting:

"Sales" is a general term that refers to the act of selling a product or service. In the music industry, this term can refer to the overall number of units sold of a particular album or song, which can include physical copies (such as CDs or vinyl records), digital downloads (such as MP3s), and streaming numbers (such as those from Spotify or Apple Music).

On the other hand, "record sales" specifically refers to the number of physical copies of an album that are sold. This can include CDs, vinyl records, and other physical formats that are typically associated with music sales. Record sales have traditionally been the primary metric used to measure an artist's commercial success, but with the rise of digital downloads and streaming services, this metric has become less significant.

In summary, "sales" is a broad term that encompasses all types of product or service transactions, while "record sales" is a more specific term that refers to the number of physical copies of an album that are sold.

Is it possible for peaks to be highlighted in the Apple chart when it’s posted?
Is it possible for peaks to be highlighted in the Apple chart when it’s posted?

It's a bit more difficult as the Apple Chart is so fluid, whilst the spotify chart also gives you the peak automatically when looking at the official charts.
