Apple Music Chart Update (07-08/02)

 77 95 P!nk - TRUSTFALL

Rising so fast today! :o Could it even go top 20 in the official chart come Friday with the way it's gaining?

Yes I mean if she continues declining as she has in the last week - if she stabilises again where she is now it'll be hard for anyone to overtake her for a while still ofc.

Also just seen Ice Spice coming for a hit of her own too as 'In Ha Mood' is new at #161 today! (Not an actual song using 'ha' as a pronoun :cheeseblock:)

It’ll be a tricky one to judge. Miley is still bringing in high numbers. I know she’s declined but even the numbers she’s doing now is really high. I wonder if Niall will be a challenger?

Going by all those other solo number one singles he's managed?

He's saying that cos the Niall song went viral on Tiktok already months before release and there was a sort of campaign via tiktok

Haven't heard it myself and cannot add much, but it's a bit like Unholy that was already known to Tiktokers well before release

Obv a regular Niall comeback released out of the blue wouldn't even trouble the top 40 but who knows with those viral campaigns

EDIT: apparently the song has 100 million views already on Tiktok!

Sam Smith's song had appeal outside of their usual fanbase, I can't see the same being true for Niall, at least not to that extent - although obviously I haven't heard it either yet and I'm happy to be proved wrong if it's a good song. You don't think a regular Niall release would trouble the top 40?? I think he'd easily debut top 40, with or without the help from TikTok.

TikTok pre-release virality is almost like the 2020s version of the 90s/00s 'played on the radio six weeks in advance'. Although acheiving virality is very difficult.

Many thousands of people are familiar with the song and there's a pent up demand when it finally arrives. Just listened to the Niall clip and it sounds pretty catchy, and with that level of TikTok exposure already, no doubt it'll be quite big for him.

The lead single from album 2 didn't debut top 40, eventually got there but after a few weeks.

Very curious to see if all this pre-release tiktok campaign pays off or not, 100 million views on tiktok is not easy to achieve

OK, from the way you worded it, it sounded like you were saying you didn't think it would trouble the top 40 at all so I obviously misunderstood.

Crazy that PinkPanthrtess is already @3

One of the fastest climbers in recent times

Yesssss come on PinkPantheress, her, Miley and Raye have made (well.will hopefully make) for some really great #1's

Great to see P!nk climbing some more.

"Boy's A Liar" has been stuck in my head all day. Happy to see it climbing more. I think it'll need to build itself a fairly big lead over Miley on spotify to overtake as "Flowers" is ahead on Apple/Amazon/Youtube/iTunes by quite a large margin ("Boy's A Liar" isn't charting on Amazon from what I can see and is currently #24/#148 on Apple Music & #168 on iTunes). Will be interesting to see how long the momentum lasts.
