RAYE has been perfectly polite in comparison.

I do love genuinely unhinged/bitter comments about people being beaten to #1 - my favourite being Dappy from N-Dubz saying they would've been #1 if it wasn't for X Factor, and they were at #5 ☠️

As far as i'm aware Raye hasn't even mentioned Shania's name. Yet some seem to think her attempts to push an album as an independent artist are some personal slight on her. I'm pretty sure all of Raye's comments, tongue-in-cheek or serious are directed at her former label rather any other artist.

I swear labels pick these chart battles on purpose to milk the fans

it's like why Arctics and Taylor released on the same date last year, fans get carried out and multibuy to help their faves

and labels know it wouldn't happen without a chart battle,

 

Everybody wins in the end, no matter who ends at #1 and #2, both Raye and Shania will sell more than if they had released in a quiet week

 

Love how both are promoting and fighting for it, the only thing I don't like is Raye's comment to the fans at the meet and greet, that's disappointing.
