I feel like Emeli Sandé kind of took too long after the first album, and just came back with more of the same when she eventually did - when she wasn't exactly standout or unique.

Adele captured a zeitgeist though and it's fair to say smashed her comeback, Emeli didn't on both counts and interest/hype had faded in the time she went away.

She probably should've came back early 2015 at the very latest.

Didn't the fact that 'Make You Feel My Love' being performed and spammed on reality TV shows really help out Adele's lead into her 2nd era?

don't think it's comparable cos Adele's 1st era was not that big, actually the album only sold well after 21

Emeli Sande's career is very similar to Duffy, a huge debut, then nothing

I thought it was in reference to Adele following 21 in 2015 after a big gap.

Oversight on my part for me to miss Emeli!

She’s genuinely been so underrated singe her debut album. I think Long Live The Angels and her most recent album Let’s Say for Instance are so strong, her most recent album inpaticular is actually really varied and not what you’d imagine an Emeli album to sound like so it’s a shame I didn’t think of her when doing my list as I prefer her to a few I did vote for

Had I been doing this on vocals alone she’d have very likely been top ten! Her vocal is absolutely sublime.

not sure if I would have recognised Debbie Gibson from that pic, she was my first crush as a kid <3 she was so talented, a teen, writing her own songs solo, playing piano, and she had a bunch of big hits, including a couple US #1s

Dina Carroll was also great, So Close was a great album. Emeli Sande I kinda liked too, too bad she fall from grace so quick. Her debut was huge but then nothing.

Im was happy to see Dina Carroll pick up more votes apart from my own, i absolutely love her first album its one of my fave albums ever and i liked her follow up material too but not to the same level. Debbie Gibson i also like but she missed out on a vote or two for me, in your eyes is my fave song from her, emeli sande the same i like a few songs from her but she missed out on my votes, like others said i also thought she would be much bigger than she ended up being after the huge success of her debut, i do think the long gap in releasing the follow up killed a lot of the momentum plus the material wasn't nearly as good which didn't help either.

Thought Zara would be much bigger as she recently had her own Buzzjack forums.

Love Sophie's 'Whaler' album

One of Buzzjack's biggest Zara stans didn't even vote!

But that's a nice climb for Zara! Hopefully she can climb next time. She's starting to become pretty underrated!

And there goes Sophie, my first to drop  I was expecting her out much sooner tbh!

Love Sophie's 'Whaler' album

It's a brilliant album, isn't it? 'Right Beside You' is one of the most joyous pop songs ever and 'As I Lay Me Down' one of the most beautiful

I enjoy some of Sophie B Hawkins music but right beside you is my fave, i really enjoy some of Lisa Stansfield stuff aswell.

love Sophie B Lawrence - Damn I Wish I Was Your Love but it's the only song of hers I can recall from memory

Lisa Stanfield was ok, lots of decent songs but she's not a big big favourite.

love Sophie B Lawrence - Damn I Wish I Was Your Love but it's the only song of hers I can recall from memory

This sounds like the lovechild of Sophie Lawrence and Sophie B Hawkins
