Posted November 9, 20222 yr Bumping this due to her being announced for Mighty Hoopla next year! (That entire line-up tho.... MY GOD!) @1590283927117500424 What an album. Would love if she did what Kate Nash did for 'Made of Bricks' in 2017 and toured this album by playing it from start to finish (throw in the other hits and an S Club song here and there to pad it out)... Hope she gets the "music bug" again after this gig tbh. She'd THRIVE in today's market (in a similar way to Carly Rae/Rina/Charli etc..)
November 9, 20222 yr The line up is amazing omg. I have tickets for Glasto and wasn't going to go to any other big events this year as a result but I have to make an exception I think - Kelly Rowland, Rachel Stevens, Kelis, Natasha Bedingfield, Jamelia, Samantha Mumba all on ONE day is insane to me! All were 90's/00's staples for me growing up.
November 9, 20222 yr Oh my, what a line up :cheeseblock: How exciting that Rachel will perform again! I hope this will lead to more from her, a brand new album would be fabulous... surely BMG would have interest in her. Or if not that, hopefully Universal thinks it's worthwhile to press her old albums on vinyl.
November 9, 20222 yr I just hope her music ends up on Australian streaming and digital services. This is great though!
November 9, 20222 yr What a line up! Ps come and get it is one the biggest travesties of injustice ever what an album deserved to be like 21 in terms of success!!
November 12, 20222 yr Its such an obvious & bland line up besides Kelly & Kelis. Nice Rachel’s finally agreed to it i suppose. I imagine Jo will be silently fuming somewhere as shes actually attempting a solo career.
November 12, 20222 yr Negotiate With Love and I Said Never Again (But Here We Are) are amazing. As is the album track Nothing Good About This Goodbye. Hopefully they all get a spot on her setlist.
November 12, 20222 yr I Said Never Again being filmed at the same set as Bad Girls will forever be iconique!
November 12, 20222 yr I don't know if it's wishful thinking on my part, but I am so excited by this news and I so hope and am manifesting that we get a tour from Rachel off the back of this next year (chiefly because whilst I like the idea of doing Hoopla, after my experience at Sugababes at the Apollo the other week when it was overcrowded relative to actual venue capacity, I don't know that I like the idea of being in such a rammed environment on my own). She has more than enough material solo and an S Club medley to fill an hour and a half set. I don't care if it's small academy style venues and only four or six dates in the major cities like Natalie Imbruglia has just done - point is I am there and she can literally take my credit card! I was so invested in her solo career - "Come and Get It" in particular is one of my all time favourite albums - mainly because it was such brilliant music she made, and she never ever got the wider recognition or love she truly deserved. I just hope these performances at Hoopla will change all that and make her realise there's more love for her solo out there than she thinks there is. Anyway there's me putting my hopes and dreams out that probably won't be realised!
November 13, 20222 yr I guess with Rachel theres not a lot of point of academy shows if theres no music to follow
November 13, 20222 yr Why did she stop recording? I don't think the chart performances of the Come and Get It album & its singles put her in a good enough position to viably continue. Now it doesn't seem to matter much if an artist's album only spends just 1 week in the chart... but back then an album run of 28-58-109-197-out was likely considered a disaster for Polydor/Universal. (A chart run like that for a peak as low as #28 looks quite weird now, when we've got used to many albums debuting in the Top 10 and then leaving the Top 100 or Top 200 the following week!)
November 13, 20222 yr This signals Rachel is dipping her toe in the pond to see how the reaction is in hope of making some form of a musical return.
February 14, 20232 yr I so wish I was going to see this, but I'll have to rely on YouTube! I wonder what her set list will be?
February 15, 20232 yr Going on the saturday! I hope she does natural and show me your colours? 1. Some Girls 2. So Good 3. I Said Never Again 4. Negotiate with love 5. Show Me Your Colours 6. Natural 7. More More More 8. LA X
February 15, 20232 yr Going on the saturday! I hope she does natural and show me your colours? 1. Some Girls 2. So Good 3. I Said Never Again 4. Negotiate with love 5. Show Me Your Colours 6. Natural 7. More More More 8. LA X That would be such a good setlist but if she leaves out Nothing good about this goodbye then the whole thing is a failure!!!
May 11, 20232 yr I'm going to Hoopla in a few weeks and i'm so excited to see Rachel perform. Is anyone else here attending? Or seen her perform solo before?
