I'm interested in the consequences of Eiffel 65 at Eurovision though it'd be unlikely to be with Gabry Ponte I'd have thought, sadly. And the consequences of Ronela coming back determined to cause a content warning for a second year in a row.

 

The lack of quality control (presumably to fund the entry lol) does look ridiculous, it's like a list of Pope's nationalities.

Alfie Acuri is an interesting one to appear here! I quite like his stuff but I would have thought he’d stick to trying via SBS

I cannot believe this didn't qualify - 100% more effort than most of the others.

No idea what is likely to take the victory here but shoutout to one time New Lexico BJSC entrant Le Deva with this pretty decent ballad

Not bad. Not a qualifier but enjoyable.

I think this could qualify. It’s a very poor year.

An official statement from the Sammarinese delegation is released which responds to the toxic reception of Piqued Jacks at the Barcelona Eurovision Party. I heard that there were shouts thrown at them saying they don't deserve to San Marino this year. Obviously everyone has their favourites in the national selection but giving artists a hard time dissuades them from participating and Eurovision is all about sharing music and having a good time.

 

Do you think the Eurovision fandom has become increasingly toxic when reacting to their favourites not winning their NS or a "mediocre" internally selected song?

I have to say it’s become increasingly toxic year after year - Twitter seems to be the hub of it, so many artists are getting abuse and I’m still seeing @‘s at Mae with some vile stuff, really ruins the show and what is meant to be a really fun event.

 

Bring back the pre-Internet days when the first we heard a song was at the contest!
