The vibe and melody in parts reminds me of P!nk's Family Portrait, which is a good thing in my eyes. Leagues ahead of Boyz but that wasn't hard. I like it!

She just did her live, really nice to hear her speak after so long.

I really don't think she's expecting chart success tbh, I think she just wants to carve her own fanbase and just keep going making music she loves.

She's worked with the Director on some other projects, it was announced yesterday they've entered a creative partnership over upcoming projects.

I'll post the video of the live if it gets uploaded.

WOWWW! I found that really powerful and I loved the storytelling.

I got chills, that was a really great video and i'm genuinely impressed.

Great work with Women's Aid!

Bad Thing is OUT NOW! I cannot believe I can finally share this with you guys. This song and video are very personal ones for me, I honestly hope you guys love it all as much as I do and I hope I did you proud 🤍

You can listen to it on all streaming platforms and watch the music video on my YouTube channel x

I mean, I thought it was pretty good. The acting was on point and it suited the song well. She is definitely letting the music do the talking this time around which I’m pleased about and outside PopJustice I haven’t seen any really negative reviews yet.

I agree with Billy, i've seen a lot of positivity on twitter and other forums! It's really nice to see.

Really lovely words from the Commissioner of the video, sounds like Jesy is building herself a nice little team for going forward.

This project has been an absolutely phenomenal experience for me to commission! Jesy’s dedication to producing an exceptional video has been unwavering. She poured her heart and soul into it, working around the clock to ensure its success, all whilst being the kindest and most appreciative person to everyone working on the project.

It was a true delight to collaborate on such an important issue with such a talented team.

Director @charlie.sarsfield was undoubtedly the perfect man for the job, bringing this crucial story to life, @gdavisx who is 24 hour-a-day manager extraordinaire, sitting in the front of the train, and @mikeshootsthings, @annielayers, and @untold_studios who all played an integral role in making this project a reality.

Thank you to everyone involved for making this project a resounding success!

Jesy Nelson, 31, said: "Bad Thing is the start of the album. I feel like this song is an indicator of what it's going to sound like but it's not all slow songs at all.

"I don't want to give a release date yet as things move but I can say the album will 100% be this year. For sure, 100%."

Jesy will drop the as of yet untitled album as an independent artist after splitting with Polydor in July last year.

She added: "I'm open to collaborations and it would be nice but right now I've not done any for the album.

"I'm already thinking about a second one.

"It's so nice to do it all as an independent artist and how I envision it.

"I’ve been recording in my home studio and Zion [her new boyfriend] has been helping me.

"Next week I'm going to New York to write some more songs with Tayla Parx and I am shooting the next music video really soon."

The clip will be shot by Charlie Sarsfield - the same director who headed up her hard hitting Bad Thing video.

The film like video highlights the all too real issue of domestic violence.

Jesy, who has teamed up with Women's Aid for the release, said: "It's not my personal story but so many women in my life have been through this.

It's nice to make a video that will make an impact and raise awareness.

Even if it helps just one person. I just really wanted to raise awareness about it as I think it's such an important topic and hardly anyone ever speaks about it.

There are so many people who go through it but they are too scared to talk about it.

Even though you may be in a situation like this, if you can find anyone that you trust then there is always someone out there that can help you. You're not stuck in there."

Speaking about working with the former X Factor winner, Women's Aid said: "We thank Jesy for using the music video of Bad Thing to signpost support for women who may be affected by domestic abuse.

"The video shows her character not explicitly leaving at the end, and we know from our work that this is a reality for many women.”

So she's filming ANOTHER video soon despite having one already shot?! New York next week to write even more songs with Tayla Parx?! YES!

I definitely hear what people mean about it sounding like Billie Eilish.

I like this a lot though! This is what I imagined solo Jesy would sound like. I just wish in a way that this was released like a year sooner, I think she could have turns things around more quickly had she dropped something like this or anything contrasting to Boyz last year pretty much as soon as the Xmas influx died out. This long wait I think has been a bit too long for someone launching a solo career.

I hope she hasn’t left it too late but I’m here for more solo Jesy if it sounds like this.

I actually feel like if she had released this last year people would have been gunning for her more and she may have flipped harder!

I think the song is a bit unremarkable, but not bad. I would really like her to learn to enunciate better though. It's such a bad habit for her to have after a decade long singing career!

Loved the interview on The One Show, she came across well and Steven was really sweet to her asking how she was and that she deserves to be okay.

Seems like Jesy had quite a few fans outside the studio, they mentioned it and there's a few selfies online now!

Id like her to take accountability for her actions first and foremost
I could see this being an absolute banger if Sonny Fodera did a remix like Unconditional by Sinead Harnett
Id like her to take accountability for her actions first and foremost

This is pretty much where I stand. Seeing someone whose whole thing for a decade was friendship just throw all that in the fire, and then restart like it never happened sours me pretty strongly.

Even though such a tough topic, it is good to see the message is being felt and taken positively by survivors of DV  Seeing a lot of people respond to it on social media saying they can relate and are glad she is trying to spread awareness.
