Ed and his ilk are just very good at what I call timeless pop songs - i.e. classic pop structure with memorable sing-a-long hooks that instantly grab you. And I think that's a talent in and of itself.

 

I don't know why people get so upset by it. It's just pop music.

 

I’d say the fact that so many people get fed up of it suggests that perhaps he’s not that good at it. I’d definitely say there are better artists out there making those kind of songs.

 

And I was kind of waiting for the word ‘upset’ to get used as if to suggest those who aren’t into Ed’s feelings are less valid or over emotional.

Pretty confident this is gonna be a hit for Flo with the high placement on NMF and the insta-add to HH
on Apple you mean, Apple means nothing (or barely)
FLO have usually done a lot better on Apple than Spotify so their early success with this song there isn't necessarily indicative of much - hope it will be though!
