It became her biggest charting hit in the UK when it debuted at #2 and found success in other countries, including Top 10 in France, Top 20 in Australia and Top 40 in Germany. March 3, 20232 yr While I can admire her for singing the song live, it's one of those songs that just weren't meant to especially in a television studio. I think Top of the Pops pushed the acts to sing live during this era though.
March 3, 20232 yr 20 years! It was definitely the song that made me properly sit up and take notice of Dannii (and also buy the album), I remember at the time being shocked she was midweek #2 and even more pleasantly surprised she held it! I still love the song just as much, it's electrifying.

March 4, 20232 yr Author This was one of two Dannii songs I was aware of as a kid in the early-00s - the other being 'Who Do You Love Now' - and I remember being just as much a fan of this as I was any Kylie song. It still holds up as one of her best today, such an energetic slice of electro-pop. You can hear the similarities with 'You Spin Me Round' in the bassline so it's easy to see why the mash-up came about.

March 5, 20232 yr Author About 100k difference. I've seen a total of 200k+ given for 'Love & Kisses' before but this is definitely false. It was the 90th best selling album of 1991 with about 120k sales and didn't chart outside of that year.

Right - I think the 200k number comes from her old webmaster who definitively blew up figures - I remember her old site claiming that her remix album Love and Kisses and... had sold 60k! I also remember him giving a 120k number for Neon Nights when it was actually under 100k for the longest while. Edited March 5, 20232 yr by tommie
March 6, 20232 yr I always thought L&K was around 160,000 and NN 120,000. The latest actual sales for NN are 107k (2018), in 2009 it was actually just over 100k (101k), so the constant reissues helped. I think pre-X-Factor reissues it was just under 100k.
March 6, 20232 yr I Begin To Wonder was one of the first songs I remember hearing from Dannii. I was surprised to see she’d already had a string of singles. This is one of my favourites from her.
