Posted March 25, 20232 yr Welcome one and all to the main library of the capital. This is the centre of knowledge for the avian population and many of the resident authors remain some of the most influential authors in the country. Our vast back catalogue covers the whole history of the capita, the science behind flying and the many fictional stories that have captured a generation, including author in residence and arguably our most famous name, J.R.R Toucan, he replaces (no, seriously no more. Ed.) It is here we will find out the results of the Semi Finals of the current BJSC. It may be an unlikely setting, but our authors in residence have a unique way of presenting this. We will be unveiling in the next few hours, but please speculate as to what thrills and surprises could await us this evening (and there will be a few believe me)
March 25, 20232 yr J.R.R Toucan *.* I've listened to both semi-finals for the first time in months so cheering on/worrying for faves for the whole thing this time. Intrigued for the twists and turns! ;o Dewey Decimal System of doom? :P
March 25, 20232 yr Hype ~ I am feeling a little better about my chances of qualifying now but still not sure, will see if I can keep getting away with it once more x (rhyme unintended) Did (m)any of the late voters come through in the end? x
March 25, 20232 yr Author Today, we will be sitting down and reading a favourite of the Avian community - 66 short tales of the Buzzverse, split across two volumes, these tales are both heartwarming and macabre in nature and of an alliterative basis. They are often cautionary tales in which many have turned out well (40 of them in fact), but many do not and fall victim to the cruel fate of the Stork reaper. They will be matched to the fate of your entry in this contest. *clears throat* The tired typewriter, Terra Avium was settling down with his Fennec Fox pet, FSR Rontvia and decided to tell him about the many escapades that come of the Buzzjack world, some turned out for the best while others didn't, let's go through them now...
March 25, 20232 yr Author (or when a few more people are here, what do you mean you have a life on Saturday night? x)
March 25, 20232 yr Author "Aelandor was a keen Axeman. When axing down an acorn tree, he absent-mindedly failed to notice an Anchor above his head." "Aeroche was flying an Aeroplane over Asia when Aliens apprehended them. They were thankfully assisted by a nearby Astronaut." "Beaverdonia battled with a Badger for more space in their burrows. But Badgers are notoriously hard to beat and they came out battered and bruised." Aeroche / Leena Punks - Mirage Aelandor / Linx Crystal - Jellyfish Beaverdonia ️/ Nathy Peluso - DELITO
March 25, 20232 yr I thought it was a bit 50/50 (and I entered it with 1 listen  ) but it really grabbed me when I first heard it, thought it was a great rock song with some cross-appeal. That said, it was such a strong semi. JRR Toucan tho *.*
March 25, 20232 yr Is it too late to change my country name to Apersephonia x Beaverdonia and Aelandor were both not far outside my votes, I thought 'DELITO' was a lot better than the Nathy song from last month but ah well (I guess it got a deduction anyway x). Aelandor's had a good instrumental and melody to it but I wasn't crazy about some of the vocals, still a bit of a shame to see that out though. Pretty good entry from Aeroche :jump: (this reveal concept :cheeseblock: let's hope it doesn't end up the same way the Spunger Games did though #iykyk)
March 25, 20232 yr Author "Bøtanikkä missed the bus to the Barn, but they were even better on the bicycle and got there at their best time." "Cor Lupus asked a cat which one of his many animals he should send to the contest. He advised the caterpillar, then the cow and then the crab. All of them were clinched from him but he still cruised to the top." "Cumulonimbia was a Cowboy who one day lassoed a Cloud. It was enough to bless the Camels in Cairo with long-awaited rain." Aeroche / Leena Punks - Mirage Bøtanikkä / Anyma & Chris Avantgarde - Consciousness Cor Lupus / Morgin Madison - Time (feat. Linney) Cumulonimbia / Curve - Horror Head Aelandor / Linx Crystal - Jellyfish Beaverdonia ️/ Nathy Peluso - DELITO
March 25, 20232 yr That Cor Lupus description :kink: Very pleased that Cumulonimbia are through! I mentioned in the thread that I was hyped for theirs based on knowing 'Fait Accompli' and this was another great song from them
March 25, 20232 yr Yasss for Cumulonimbia  definitely my fave from the large batch of retro entries this month. (also just realised this is only semi 1 atm so not as long a wait for my result as I thought) I detect a Toto reference in the Cumulonimbia commentary x
March 25, 20232 yr Author "Dobago prayed to a Deity to leave the human world behind and become a Dolphin, thinking it would bring his life delights. To his detriment, he discovered that dolphins have a darker side…*" "East Rukahavian was making an echelon of Eclairs. He had twenty eggs to do this, until he realised two of them were from an Eagle’s Eyrie and they were not exceptionally pleased." "Fljotavik was desperately looking for a friend to share their fashion with. He was fortunate enough to find a Flamingo to fraternise with." Aeroche / Leena Punks - Mirage Bøtanikkä / Anyma & Chris Avantgarde - Consciousness Cor Lupus / Morgin Madison - Time (feat. Linney) Cumulonimbia / Curve - Horror Head Fljótavík / Fever Ray - Carbon Dioxide Aelandor / Linx Crystal - Jellyfish Beaverdonia ️/ Nathy Peluso - DELITO Dobago / Shona Laing- America East Rukahavian / Juliana Madrid - Madonna *Trust me they are, look it up x
March 25, 20232 yr This Fennec Fox is fawning over these fables. Tsk Beaver, hopefully the non-voters can vote in the final. The Qs so far are all strong.
March 25, 20232 yr Yay Fljótavík *.* I've been enjoying 'Tapping Fingers' lately and this is another good'un.
