April 19, 20232 yr Author 06/05/2000 Death In Vegas Dirge 24 {24}-45->2 Electronic group project of Richard Fearless. I hadn't heard this song before but it's a very interesting instrumental piece - it followed up a top 10 hit but is their most streamed track today. vs. 06/07/2002 Wyclef Jean Featuring Claudette Ortiz Two Wrongs 14 {14}-20-27-37-49-67->6 Wyclef Jean's last hit as a lead performer. A fairly standard RnB track here, not very interesting but the guest vocalist makes it better than it would otherwise have been. Do you have any memories of the following songs and where is your money going on today's roulette wheel spin.
April 19, 20232 yr That Death in Vegas track is utterly sublime  so dark and brooding. The Wyclef track... meh all round.
April 19, 20232 yr I always confuse Death in Vegas with Dirty Vegas, doesn't help they were out around the exact same time. And their top 10 hit single Aisha was an interesting one as there was a completely different song with the same name that was popular in my circles around the time, the Arabic song covered by Outlandish.
April 19, 20232 yr It overly keen on either of these. Actually I don’t think I recall the Death in Vegas song at all.
April 20, 20232 yr Author 06/11/2004 Tina Turner Open Arms 25 {25}-37-53->3 The final original top 40 hit Tina Turner ever had. It's as MOR as you'd expect but her voice remains great which made it a pleasant enough listen. vs. 17/09/2005 Foo Fighters D.O.A. 25 {25}-49-71->3 Not one of Foo Fighters' most remembered songs, rather bog standard from them really although I'm not that keen on them in general. So Tina surprisingly wins here. Do you have any memories of the following songs and where is your money going on today's roulette wheel spin.
April 20, 20232 yr That's one of my fave Foo Fighters songs, so an easy pick for me! One of those I way preferred to the lead single but did nowhere near as well. Tina's OK though.
April 20, 20232 yr Tina for me but I don't overly mind the Foo's track either. Same here in regards to not being a big fan generally. I like 'The Pretender', 'Long Road To Ruin' and a couple of others.
April 21, 20232 yr Author 22/10/2005 Lisa Scott-Lee Electric 13 {13}-47->2 An infamous track on Buzzjack here well known for bombing so quick down the chart that it ended her solo career and the failed attempt to get it in the iTunes chart for the site's anniversary. It's a decent enough pop tune though and is now her most streamed track on Spotify although hardly that well remembered with only half a million streams. vs. 04/03/2000 Flickman The Sound Of Bamboo 11 {11}-23-33-45-66->5 And now onto such an obscure performer I can't find anything about them. This clearly benefited from being in the era when club songs could make the chart for a couple of weeks though it seems odd this nearly made top 10 as there's nothing really special about this compared to most of the other dance hits of the time. As such Lisa wins today.. Do you have any memories of the following songs and where is your money going on today's roulette wheel spin.
April 21, 20232 yr Omg, I actually love both of these. I'm going with Lisa for this being such an iconic cornerstone in pop culture though.
April 21, 20232 yr Although I think to be fair, 'Electric' bombing so hard down the chart is in part because they limited it to 15,000 copies as the sole intention was for her to try and get top 10 with it that week. It's quite funny, I was watching clips of Totally Scott Lee with one of my friends the other day and reminiscing  Simply the best car crash TV show ever.
April 21, 20232 yr How peculiar that I came across that Flickman track only this week! Nothing memorable about it though you're right so Mrs "B-list at Capital" takes this one.
April 21, 20232 yr Well 'Electric' is the best of the two and of course the anniversary of the forum campaign song so gotta go with it for that also!
