Thanks for getting involved wardy and it's absolutely incredible to have you take part!

I'd never heard this version before but I quite like it. The album version took some time to grow on me at the time.

First of all, sorry for the delay in posting my song I have had a hectic week with the class assembly at work, plus interviews for a leader role so I've been a little all over the place!!

So for my song of the week I decided (after changing my mind amongst album tracks, singles, b-sides over and over) to go with a track I actually love from Steptacular. Over the years I have become quite negative towards the Steptacular album and actually I only really rate Deeper shade of blue and Say you'll be mine as the two great singles from it, (oh and Tragedy of course but I always associate that with Step One more even though it is not on that album!). I'm not really a fan of the album tracks either and I actually think the choices for singles were the correct ones. All in all it feels like a very quickly put together album to benefit from the hype around Steps at the time. Ironically I didn't like Buzz as much initially but over the years I have grown to really like that one!

I decided due to not being a big fan of the album to go with an album track I do love from the album, Make it easy! I've always adored the lightness of the song, it's so breezy and easy listening and while I don't think it would really have worked as a single, I do consider it to be one of the best tracks on the album.

Share you opinions all ^_^

I dont love this song but i do like it, it always gives me pwl vibes from late 80s and a song that would fit as an album track on an early Kylie album to fit the ballad quota.

Nice choice spiceboy!

I remember really liking it back when the album was released but it's one that's sadly slipped down my rankings. Still a decent song though.

There’s five weeks left of this at this stage. awardinary or Spiceboy, are you up for a second week or anyone want a first or third week? Or should we stop it after 12 weeks/3 months? Happy with what everyone thinks is best. :)
Interesting pick! Steptacular as a whole didn’t age well imo. I don’t hate it, some songs sound dated. It also has classics like Love’s got a hold on my heart  This album track is somewhere in between for me. Not bad, not great.

I am happy to do another

Maybe let’s see how things are after the third cycle of choices. I suspect at that point we’ll have selected the majority of their best non-singles and that could bring the activity to a natural end.

I kept meaning to get around to revisiting the Glitter & Gold remix to be able to comment, but I still haven’t! So I’m bumping this to remind myself.

It’s quite legitimately a highlight from Steptacular for me, it’s such a sweet song with some lovely vocal moments from Lisa. It’s a song I’d have considered for a SOTW somewhere down the line too!
It will never be a big fave of mine and its not a song i revisit much but its enjoyable and its a while since i heard it and i enjoyed it more than i thought i would.

Who is next?

Edit: Just seen!

After we’ve done 3 rotations we should have a listening party with our chosen tracks!

I’m up later today with my second pick. Still deciding between two songs.

That’s a great idea! A listening party would be good.

I Will Love Again

For week 8 we have I Will Love Again, which is the closing track of Steps 2017 comeback album Tears On The Dancefloor. This was an instant favourite of mine from the moment I first heard it. It's euphoric beat and message coming back stronger and finding love again. This is one I always wish was a single and imagine would've had a great dance routine anyway. This is also a cover song, sung originally by Canadian-Belgian singer Lara Fabian, who took the song to #31 and #53 in the UL back in 2000. (I never knew the chart placings until checking Wikipedia). This is also one of my favourite Steps album tacks out of all the albums.

What are you thoughts on I Will Love Again?

Great pick! Love this one. Such an anthem indeed. They and their team are good at picking songs like this that really work for them.
