Not overly keen on this one to be honest, nice enough but a bit cheesy

2. S Club Party

3. Two in a Million

4. You're My Number One

5. I Really Miss You

6. Viva La Fiesta

7. Friday Night

10. Hope for the Future

11. Gonna Change the World

Thanks to everyone for coming and taking part  hope to see you all next week at the same time for our '7' listenthrough!!! (and if we all pray hard enough, maybe they'll put Stand By You on Spotify by then  )

Up to 9 I was really loving/liking, GCTW is decent and HFTF is just ok but nothing memorable for me so an easy least fave here.

All in all a strong, solid pop album let alone strong debut at that!

Thanks for running guys.

Thanks for organising guys! I had a blast reading through this.

I will definitely do my solo listen through and post my comments Thursday or Friday. :)

Starting my listen through now!! :):)

Bring It All Back:

What a stone cold classic this is! Hands down one of the best debut singles of the 90's. Infectious, joyous and and all round good time. I remember using this song for an assignment in Year 10, got 100%!!

You're My Number One:

I'll forever be disappointed this was skipped over as a single in Australia. Love this so much it's such an earworm and that chorus is so uplifting. Fighting Bring It All Back for my favourite single/song on the album.

Two In A Million:

I nice cute ballad and a perfect step down in tempo after the first two songs. I wasn't as sold on this in 1999 as I am now. Being released at Christmas felt perfect for this.

S Club Party:

OK confession time, this is my least favourite single from the album. I still love it but it doesn't fill me with as much live as the other. Yes there's the nostalgia there but Bring It All Back and You're My Number One are close to 10/10 songs for me and with Two In A Million, well I'm a sucker for a good ballad. Do agree that this would've been perfect for Track 1 on the album.

Everybody Wants You:

We're off to a very strong start with the album tracks. I have vague memories of this in Miami 7 even if I can't remember it clearly. I remember loving this back when I got the album and wishing it was a single. It's dropped a little in my rankings since then though. I'll do a full one after track 11.

Viva La Fiesta:

If there even was a missed single opportunity then this would be it for me, well perhaps pair it as a double a with something else later. It's almost athematic, in a guilty pleasure kind of way. Enjoying this one more now than 24 years ago.

Gonna Change The World:

Oh where did this come from? I don't ever recall liking this back in 1999, but it's actually quite good! It's nice to see the boys get the spotlight with this one. Would it have worked as a single though? I'm not sure, I like to think it would've.

I Really Miss You:

I've loved this one from the moment I saw it for the first time in Miami 7, Rachel does a great job on vocal and nothing against Jo but this is perfectly suited for Rachel. I'd have loved this to be a single but maybe it's a little to similar to Two In A Million. Actually thinking out loud this could've been a great Christmas single. Maybe pair it with You're My Number One, then pair Two In A Million with Viva La Fiesta to close the album.

Friday Night:

Another one I wasn't keen on back in 1999 but I'm liking this one a lot more now. It would still fall in the bottom half of the album for me, but that just speaks to how great this album is.

It's A Feel Good Thing:

So as it turns out I got the lyrics completely wrong to this when I was 11. I use to think it was 'Wanna steer a boat', the 'Wanna steal a boat' but thought that didn't make sense. Oh how dumb was I. Anyway on the song, I love it right up there as one of my favourite non singles from the album So good, so catchy, an all round good time. Would like to see this get a place on the tour setlist.
