I guess we have to be thankful that it's only a handful of tracks and not the entire Top 40. It's a lot easier to manipulate and push songs to people than ever before meaning a select few will linger around for lengthy periods of time.

Depending on it the OCC decide to implement “The ‘Perfect’ Rule” or not, if Heat Waves does get reset, it may be forced onto permanent ACR in August whatever happens

Oh bloody ELL! If they're going to whimsically reset things all over the place these days can they do away with the 25% auto reset in the hope that some sense might prevail and things that have already spent an eternity on the top 40 won't get a free pass.

I still love 'Heat Waves' and never got bored of it, although I could probably do without it coming back.

 

Mind you, it's fair enough if it gets an automatic reset and at least won't be given a manual one for a completely bullshit reason like George Ezra.

but is the increase genuine? why would suddenly have a 100% increase? it's nearly doubled relative to last Sat and looking at tiktok/youtube cannot really see an apparent reason other than autoplay payola

they really should go back to 50% increase for autoresets

Yeah the increase for Heat Waves seems quite bizarre to say the least, it’s not even been gradual it’s just a sudden one day huge climb…

Can’t wait for Friday when we have As It Was, Green Green Grass, Forget Me and even potentially heat waves and pointless return to the top 10 <_<

We already have the worst song of 2022 pointlessly reset and back in the official top 10, is2g if the worst song of 2021 also gets reset after that spotify climb today 😭

 

It's actually from 2020 (came out in June and started charting in October). And of course didn't hit #1 in the US until 2022.

 

I can only hope this weirdly huge upward spike has a corresponding massive downward spike ASAP.

I don’t mind if Kill Bill has a slight climb as long as it doesn’t get a reset and Kushner should end up getting official #1 if he keeps climbing on iTunes

yes, climbing on itunes is the key for this week's #1 lol

Kushner added to HH pretty high (#track 10)

Lewis moved to #1 on HH as I was expecting (his label always seems to manage that)

 

think they also added a bunch of tracks to HH: Labrinth, ice Spice & Nicki, Jonas Bros
