Posted April 1, 20232 yr End of an era. From the autumn, the official top 40 will be broadcast for the first time ever on commercial radio after BBC Radio 1 loses the rights after 56 years as part of the corporation's cuts. Radio 1 still plan to air their own unofficial chart as voted by listeners as componsation. Your thoughts then on this historic moment.
April 1, 20232 yr I haven’t listened to it for years. I follow it on here now. But certainly an end of era moment of sorts
April 1, 20232 yr it still seems incredibly unlikely R1 would just give up their rights to the official chart after having it since its very inception even with whatever cuts to their budget they have to make, so don't see it happening anytime soon if ever (as long as R1 and OCC continues to exist)
