Probably the weakest era for b-sides really. The original mix of Right Guy on the Don't Stop Movin' single isn't as good as the polished album version for me (like Jay, I only recently learned they were different!). The Long and Winding Road is pleasant but not really my thing, and Lately's cute but inessential leaving Dangerous as the only one I really care for.

All of those (Anytime, Anywhere included) will feature in the b-sides party in 2 weeks' time! :D (this will be via a YouTube playlist!)

Yeah agreed. I used to listen to The Long and Winding Road a bit, usually to compare it to The Corrs' version that they'd included as a b-side around the same time conincidentally.

Nice, I didn't realise that was happening!

Leaving for work now but it’s been great reading through this.

Looking forward to getting home this evening and giving it a listen.

Starting my listen through now. I remember the day I bought this, December 28th 2001. It was the same the I bought Steps Gold Greatest Hits and the same day I found out Steps broke up. As a result I think I've never really given this album the time it deserves. Before the listening parties it'd rank third for me. Let's see if that changes in the next hour or so.

Don't Stop Movin:

Three albums in three weeks and three absolute classics to kick the album off. I've always loved this one, it's shows such great progression for them. I remember being it the city the day this was released and I had to choose between this and Irresistible by Jessica Simpson, I chose the latter as it was slightly cheaper. (sorry). I rectified this later in the week when I purchased this though. :)

Show Me Your Colours:

One of if not the best album tracks S Club 7 have, I'm not sure how this wasn't a single either. I'll admit I wasn't great with picking vocals back in the day so I didn't realise this was Rachel. It's so nice and also shows off their growth I think. Such a strong track.

You:

I was obsessed with this from the moment I first heard it, I liked the kind of retro feel. I slightly more slowed down version wouldn't feel out of place on Emma's album Free Me. I thought the video for this was also very brilliant. This was the last single with Paul wasn't it?

Have You Ever:

I've always thought of this as such a nice warm ballad, I even think I preferred it to Never Had A Dream Come True at the time. I also think at the time this was released it really connected with me. Listening to it now brings back so many memories. Jo sounds great too.

Good Times:

I didn't really remember this one and only rediscovered it last week but it's such a nice pleasant summery track. Paul sounds brilliant on it too.

Boy Like You:

This would fit perfectly on a Billie Piper or even Atomic Kitten album. Actually I think it's also better suited to 7 then Sunshine, saying that it's still a nice song, I'm enjoying it.

Sunshine:

Wow! Where has thing song been? I'm really liking it, Jon fits it so well. It's such a nice uplifting song and such a great title for the album. Great to see Jon get his moment.

Dance Dance Dance:

My memories of this album are very limited outside of the singles and this is no exception. I don't remember this much at all. Is it just me that thinks this sounds a little like a Spice Girls song?

Stronger:

I love Tina and all but this one falls a little flat for me. Maybe it'll take a few listens to click? I am hearing this for the first time in a very long time.

Summertime Feeling:

I love the Fleetwood Mac sample/inspiration, it really lifts the song for me. Love the 'Got me dreaming, S Club feeling line'.

I Will Find You:

I think with Stronger this is the weakest of the bunch for me, still a very strong album though. I've really enjoyed it.

Never Had A Dream Come True:

(The same as last week)

I must admit I'm surprised this wasn't released as a single here in Australia, especially after it did well in America. I know Reach & Natural didn't do anything chart wise and the album missed the top 50 but I feel like this would've done better than those two. I really like this song though and it's close to their best ballad for me. I'm also one that views this as a Sunshine song and not a 7 song.

My rank:

1. Don't Stop Movin'

2. Have You Ever

3. Show Me Your Colours

4. Never Had a Dream Come True

5. You

6. Dance Dance Dance

7. Boy Like You

8. Good Times

9. It's Alright

10. Summertime Feeling

11. Sunshine

12. Stronger

13. I Will Find You

Top 11 is very strong and 7 through to 11 was hard to order.

Thanks for hosting this again Joseph!

I really enjoyed revisiting this album. It’s such a shame I didn’t give it the attention it deserved when I first bought it. It’s a really strong album however and is definitely one I’ll be returning to again.
