April 28, 20232 yr Interesting that we actually got a Thursday update from the OCC on the albums chart! Very unusual for the lead to flip and then flip back between two new entries - although if it was just a one day boost for Enter Shikari I think EBTG still have a decent chance of getting it back again in time for the final chart. I'd be pretty happy to see either of them getting a #1, I feel like people have talked a bit about Everything But The Girl having a long career that's overdue a #1 but not so much about the same being true for Enter Shikari, they're 16 years into their career which is actually slightly longer than the gap between EBTG's debut and their last pre-hiatus album! (Thus, if EBTG do get to #1 I fully expect Enter Shikari to disband after this album and then get #1 with a comeback album in 2047 :basil:) I know and like more songs by Enter Shikari but they have the benefit of not being nearly entirely before my time, I've just not gone out of my way to listen to any of EBTG's older songs beyond the obvious 'Missing'. The lead single from this new album was pretty great as well whereas I've not been blown away by the couple of singles I've heard from the Shikari album so hard to decide which to root for more overall. I do think there's a pretty good chance that Enter Shikari will become the third member of the 'debut at #1 then drop straight out of the top 100' club if they hang on (their last album went 2-77-x) but hey. x With it being so close I know what I'll be thinking circa 4:45pm tomorrow... Anything Can Happen In The Next Half Hour... :funky: Well I basically love one song by both acts and have very limited knowledge of the rest of their discography. Kinda hoping EBTG do it though, given how significant it would be that far into their career. Interested to know what the one Enter Shikari song you do know is? I'd have thought both of their top 40 hits would be about equally well remembered (and in fact neither of them are actually their most streamed song on Spotify).
April 28, 20232 yr It's gonna be nailbiting, I badly want EBTG to do it now. I won't be too gutted if it's #2 though, that's still an amazing result for them and Enter Shakira have been around for a long enough time that it'd be a great achievement for them too.

I was interested to see what their two top 40 hits are and surprisingly I hadn't heard of either of them. I only know two songs by them and neither of them have been hits ('Anaesthetist' and 'Torn Apart').
