I guess I don't follow them closely enough to know, but I thought The National were a big band that Radio 1 would be all over.

They are more a 6 Music style band but I’m pretty sure R1 played them for the first era!

I first discovered The National from Radio 1 (with 'Bloodbuzz Ohio') although it was a nighttime show.

I don't recall The National ever being playlisted on Radio 1. Not sure how long the playlists have been posted here but when you search 'Bloodbuzz' in UK Charts none of the playlist threads appear in the results. (I figured that'd be easier than searching 'National' which would give a lot of unrelated results)

I've been posting the weekly playlists here since 2012 and they haven't been playlisted in that time. They released their first album in 2001 but didn't get a top 10 album until 2010, so I'm not sure when Radio 1 would have started taking notice of them. 'Bloodbuzz Ohio' was released in 2010 so predates my weekly playlists. I'm not sure if the playlists were posted regularly or sporadically before that?

Funnily enough searching 'National' on here only returns a very small number of entries pre-2017. The playlist was definitely being posted each week from 2006 as I went looking for some of them last year when trying to look at some of the 00s dance tracks they featured. I think it's safe to say they haven't been playlisted and, as it stands, they still haven't been. TOTW doesn't always guarantee a playlist slot as it is supposed to be the presenter's chance to showcase a track they're enjoying outside of the regular songs. I think this is the 3rd time Floorplan has been TOTW and still no playlist add.
