Apologies for the lateness! George FitzGerald won week 16 with his SYML collab 'Mother'. The song is the first single from his upcoming EP Not As I due out in June. According to George, he wanted to revisit the more calmer and intimate sound of his earlier album Fading Love. 'Mother' is described as an "entrancing track that showcases George FitzGerald’s signature genre-defying sound, combining a beautiful piano melody with hypnotic beats and SYML‘s crystal clear vocals".

So tough this week but I've gone for yunè pinku - EP of the year

Maybe I should have included Blush Cut instead? :thinking:

 

Confidence Man/Daniel Avery - super instant banger although I have a feeling I'll tire of it quite fast

 

Also loving Achingdrum, Four Tet, MRD & Nabihah Iqbal

Definitely a much stronger week than last week, a few better than George which I voted for, but an easy vote for ConMan and Daniel :wub:

This week really was stacked :drama: went with Four Tet in the end.

Ok, let’s do this…

 

1. Four Tet – Three Drums [Loved hearing this one this week, a very beautiful piece of music from Four Tet]

2. Confidence Man & Daniel Avery – On & On (Again) [I do love this, a great release from Confidence Man, and it is giving me retro vibes from the late 90’s]

3. yunè pinku – Heartbeat [This was another wonderful discovery this week, really pleased with the quality this week]

4. Effy & Flowdan – Stone [Flowdan sounds really good on an electronic song, this sounded really good actually]

5. MRD – Let Her Go [Sounding very good on first listen, another excellent selection this week from our esteemed host]

6. Nabihah Iqbal – Gentle Heart [A nice inclusion and I need to personally explore her music more as I’m not that familiar yet and I want to be. This should really be higher]

7. CHVRN – Promises [This sounds alright but it seemed to finish quite fast for me, could have done with being a couple more minutes longer]

8. Achingdrum – Coasting [Relatively mid, but it’s not the worst choice, I don’t find it that bad though, just that everything else this week was better]
