The songs at #20 and #21 are doing similar numbers to what Padam did when it was #21 last Friday... so it looks like PP has just lost streams rather than it being an overall trend.

Thanks hun

Appreciate it

As I expected!

But if this is the start of the end then its had an amazing run.

But we can also remember huns all it takes is a few more playlists or a tiktok thing or something to start another trend upwards.

The success has been amazing and lets not forget its still rising in other countries

I dont think this is the end of Padam Padam, I think we will get more boosts as shes added to new playlists.

On 26th May, Padam Padam was in 20th place on just hits.

13th June - 14th

22nd June - 8th

So 1st might have only happened today? Let's hope that can help!

I'm in the camp of thinking it'll be 9 or 10 this week without BMG reacting to it.

I'm still keeping everything crossed that BMG will surprise us with a 7" vinyl... but that needs to be within the next 3 weeks. If it was a thing now I think we'd be having the conversation of Padam Padam possibly making the Top 5.

It'll be so disappointing if a 7" doesn't materialise for what is her biggest hit in years and years... surely it's on the cards? But quite a shame if it ends up being something they release in September perhaps.

it was 8 yesterday. It got changed to 1 20 hours ago :cheer: :cheer:

I still think they have a few more tricks up their sleeves to help padam padam

1000%

they have had this track since January 2022, i am sure its all in their 18 month album plan, with a few adjustments for success

every remix will have a new video edit lol, more downloads, more gimmicks, phyisicals etc. We have no idea what deals she has with the Streaming channels etc

I love everything we get. surpirses are great

I agree hun. I love a good surprise

Excited to see whats next. I still feel theres a higher peak coming at some point to be honest

Hopefully she gets moved higher on some playlists as that will help.

Ina Wroldsen didn't mean January 2022. "Last January" means the most recent January that occurred - so when she said that 2 weeks ago, she meant January 2023.

I would have took it to mean last year as well, I won’t lie!

I would say “this January” for the one that’s current, and “this coming January” for the next one.

But if you say "that happened last week", you don't mean the week before the previous one, do you?

And if you said "last Sunday", you'd be referring to Sunday 18th June, not 11th June.

If you went out "last night" it would be the most recent night, not the night beforehand.

Saying "last January" in June 2023 doesn't make sense to be referring to 17 months earlier. January 2022 is "the January before last". Last in this context means most recently occurring.

It's awkward and semantics but Ina 100% did not mean January 2022. They've not sat on Padam Padam for that long.

Spotify

Biggest day so far

22.06 - 774,539

23.06 - 844,187

:)

Amazing! Up to #19 in her all time most streamed songs on Spotify.

Wow still moving in the right direction worldwide :cheeseblock: I just hope it plateauing in the UK is a temporary thing and it starts to make significant increases again...

No im pretty sure it was January 2022 i even remember someone else, i think it was Amy Wadge saying she first heard it last summer and i think Kylie stated its been around for ages and then she got working on the rest of the album after Padam

Amy Wadge hasn't been mentioned in the Popjustice thread, I can't find anything about her mentioning Padam Padam elsewhere  I'll take your word for it!

Insiders had a different story about this era... that Tension (mostly including work with Richard Stannard & Duck Blackwell) was pretty much considered complete, until Padam Padam came up for consideration... and that they loved it so much that the plans altered. That the lead single was meant to be Hold on to Now. Also explaining why Padam Padam is an outlier on the album and that there's no other work from Ina/Lostboy, because it was a late submission.

Top 10 incoming for Ireland?

iTunes #1

Apple #2

Spotify #22

YouTube #49

:cheer: Wow #2 on their Apple Music :o

Kylie literally did an interview i am sure and said about the album etc. i cant for the hell of me think which one it was. i think it was a USA one. Maybe i was drunk when she confirmed about Padam Padam

It wasnt Amy Wadge it was Maegan Cottone who messaged Lost Boy on Instagram saying she had been singing it in her head since July. This was in May 2023 so she must have first heard it in July 2022 when they were putting the album together?

Edit.

it was in this Capital FM interview saying its been around for a year in her world so thats Early 2022. Also said they then recorded loads of songs for the album but came back to Padam Padam as the choice
