October 4, 20231 yr Mae pleaded for people to download her album on iTunes, but it's unclear if that strategy will work, as it’s fallen to #24. However, she signed about 100 copies yesterday and more on Thursday, which will boost her sales and may help her scrape into the top 75.
October 4, 20231 yr Author There's no way she will get to keep her record deal with Capitol. She isn't a Bebe Rexha whose albums flop yet still manages to score worldwide hits sometimes. Edited October 4, 20231 yr by Voodoo
October 4, 20231 yr Download reduced to £4.99 on iTunes now and currently #4 (Andrew Cushin done the same and is #1).
October 4, 20231 yr #26 in todays midweeks - up from #33 on Monday. Signed copies definitely helping… maybe this can manage a top 40 place afterall? I’m predicting a top 50/60 is more likely though.
October 4, 20231 yr I’ve seen so many people saying they are buying it out of pity that I figure she will be fine! I hoped it wouldn’t flop for attracting future Eurovision artists cause it won’t be long until they start looking. She’s doing some more personal singings tomorrow so that will be good. I hope she can at least breaks 2500 sales. Edited October 4, 20231 yr by Megan_x
October 4, 20231 yr Author Is the OCC fine with it? I thought it was illegal according to chart rules.

October 5, 20231 yr Is the OCC fine with it? I thought it was illegal according to chart rules. First thing I thought when I saw it - I’m sure The Lottery Winners tried something similar and quickly had to apologise and withdraw the offer. Anyway I’ve just ordered 2 x personally signed CDs for friends from Banquet, I so want Mae to hold on to the Top 40 on Friday!
October 5, 20231 yr She’s back at Banquet now and pushing the signed versions and #1 and #35 on iTunes - hopefully safe for a Top 40 now which is a great outcome compared to the first mids.
October 6, 20231 yr Fingers crossed for Mae today, I hope she secures a top 20 placing (optimistic, but hey, stranger things have happened!)
October 6, 20231 yr 33 Officially! congratulations on a top 40 Mae! Edited October 6, 20231 yr by Lukuzz
October 6, 20231 yr Pleased it’s gone Top 40 both for Mae and for artists considering ESC - she’s achieved a Top 10 single and Top 40 album off the back of it (none of which appeared to be forthcoming prior to ESC!).
January 12, 20241 yr It sounds more like she’s stepping back from actively releasing on her post to me. I reckon it’ll be a bit of an extended break as opposed to quitting for good (which she never mentioned in her post)
January 12, 20241 yr Sounds like the Eurovision experience likely affected her, among other things (the pressure to get chart hits really gets to a lot of artists and I get that). From her posts last year and seeing her at events, she seemed to enjoy the build-up and the contest itself, but I expect the trauma of the result itself and then the heave required to get the album top 40 paid their toll. I still really like her and a Eurovision result is really only one barometer of success. It still was a UK top ten and has well over 20 million streams on Spotify, so I expect there are a lot of other contributing factors. I don't think people do necessarily think of her as a Eurovision flop in quite the same way as the likes of James Newman and Jemini, as she was the home turf entry and it was a popular song commercially and all over the radio. There does seem to be more sympathy to her result than with other UK artists. Edited January 12, 20241 yr by gooddelta
