Whilst fans, although I hate 1989 through to Evermore oop, can hear the difference, Taylor's lyrics can be quite similar thematically, and she usually uses the same chord progression. As most of her songs, especially the hits, use the same progression, you can see why people who don't like her would find they sound the same.
