Bingo ^_^ I did not think anyone took her seriously, they certainly didn’t when that Munch song was a thing (for all the wrong reasons). I feel like this is the case with a lot of “meme” artists that actually have very little talent (Lil Nas X is another one IMO)

Not trying to be funny but genuinely did you stop paying attention to Lil Nas X after 'Old Town Road'? 'MONTERO' was a well regarded album and its big hits were not even slightly meme songs (I guess you could say he was still playing into some gimmicks with the marketing / music videos but the songs themselves were completely serious).

Ice Spice definitely started blowing up as a meme rather than people taking her seriously as a musician and I'm not convinced that she isn't still seen more as a meme than a serious artist despite all these big collabs. She could very well eventually make that transition like Doja Cat and, yes, Lil Nas X did but idk. She seems a bit too one note to me from her (admittedly pretty limited) output so far. I do quite like 'Princess Diana' though. This 'Karma' remix could have been a good opportunity for her to gain some more credibility but it seems to have fallen pretty flat.

Hoping we finally get a new #1 with this

He had a bigger budget and better collaborators but I still don’t think he has talent. The vocals on “That’s What I Want” are painful to listen to.

Ok but you were saying you don't think anyone takes him seriously. Maybe you don't and that's fair enough but I really don't think that's been the case at large since 'Old Town Road'. 'MONTERO' has a score of 85 on Metacritic and appeared in quite a few publications' best albums of 2021 list, and I don't think he would have been able to have several big and long running hits from that era if the general public were only ironically enjoying them.

Dave added as track #10 to HH, The Weeknd & Madonna also added pretty high

they also added Burma Boy and I think they also added Good Love

forgot to post Harry-Satellite was added some time ago

the #1 on HH is again of course... Jazzy :)

on Apple:

47 NEW Dave & Central Cee - Sprinter

coming for official #1 next Friday!!

To say that Lil Nas X has little talent is crazy. Why can't people on this forum just admit something isnt for them instead of the hypberolic statements

on Amazon:

10 Jazzy

43 Kylie

53 Dua Lipa

What’s the talent exactly beyond making memes? His vocals aren’t exactly amazing and he comes across as a bit of a Reddit edgelord

Performance skills, lyrics, creativity. Not everything is about vocals! I wouldn't even say they were THAT bad.

If you don't like him that's fine, but just think it's a bit much to say he isn't talented.

Kylie coming through on Amazon Music UK.

Its been Slow but now Get Outta Her Way and let Padam Padam shine

He has no stage presence imo, I just don’t see it. And to be a pop star you need some semblance of a voice, I love Britney and I’m the first to admit she’s not exactly Whitney Houston but she has a distinctive voice that sounds good… Lil Nas X’s just doesn’t to me (and I find his whole meme personality insufferable). Everybody’s entitled to their opinion I’m not stopping anybody from liking him

Well we will agree to disagree, from shows I've seen him at, he always puts on a great show and has amazing stage presence.

Like Bre said, his album was really well received and has a huge fan base. You don't get that from not being talented really. It's fine to have an opinion but to dismiss someone as having no talent just because you don't like them is weird to me - for example I don't like artists like Lana Del Rey, Lewis Capaldi or Ed Sheeran but I would never deny their talent lol.
