With a phenomenal score above 10... the reigning champion album track on the forum has been dethroned! Dance in the Dark must settle for second place. Produced by Fernando Garibay, the song was performed live at The Brits alongside Telephone as a tribute to the late Alexander McQueen. It was intended to be a single after Telephone, but disputes with the label meant that it never happened and Alejandro was chosen instead. As per the rest of the album, it represents one of Gaga's fears, and here it is the fear of the self. In the song, the singer is insecure about her body and so leaves the lights off - she can only be free and wild in the dark. It became a radio single in some territories but remained an album track everywhere else.[/b]

Which means the #1 album track as voted for by you, is Scheiße! Born This Way's chaotic German-club banger claims the throne. Produced by long-term collaborator RedOne, the song first surfaced in remix form at the Anatomy of Change by Thierry Mugler show, although, Gaga purposely left out the chorus during this remix. Gaga revealed that the song was written a day after going to a "dirty party" in Berlin and that it was about wanting to be bad without permission. With purposefully gibberish lyrics, banging beats and empowering lyrics, it encapsulates everything that makes its parent album great - it is unashamedly loud and abrasive. The song has gone on to be performed at the Born This Way Ball, Joanne World Tour and Enigma show - it's a clear favourite for Gaga to perform live.

To her credit, she really does have quite a lot of great album tracks that would totally have worked as singles, not many acts can boast that

I would've preferred DITD to win but in a way I'm happy it didn't also because it tends to win everything album track related here eve since I've been part of the community so this is very refreshing!

 

Maybe the resurgence of the BTW album the past year or so has helped Scheiße pip it to the post?

 

Both insane averages though - a very very worthy winner and runner-up.
