This is a weird one for me because I like it and it sounds absolutely massive but anytime I listen to it, it just kind of washes over me.
Enters the chart at #18 today. Not a terrible start but it does have 5 Barbie songs above it so it's fighting some stiff competition atm

It’s not just that. There’s also the fact that people are still interested in "Miracle"

And that's perfectly fine, but it was released 5 months ago which is plenty of a gap between the two singles. Miracle still being in the Top 40 is great though.

Miracle is only behind Desire because the former is on ACR. Miracle would be ahead if it was still on SCR and you’d think after 5 months, people would be bored by now

The same could be said about a lot of songs on ACR hence why the rule exists. Music tastes show the necessity for that rule is because people become bored of songs far less quickly. Miracle is defying that ACR rule because it's a bop but we can also equally enjoy Desire at the same time. There's no hard and fast rule that says everyone must move on now because Desire is here.

#10 in yesterday's chart update which looks promising. Miracle is still marginally popular on Spotify but Desire is miles ahead on Apple Music
Got an email today to say my CD has been dispatched so I guess there'll be some physicals added to this week's sales total
Up to #12 today. I got my CD yesterday so I assume there's going to be some physical sales accounting for its rise, will wait for the announcement of the figures
Desire sprints 18-12 (21,837 sales) for Calvin Harris & Sam Smith, following its release on CD, which accounts for 521 sales.

Gosh only 521 CDs sold so far despite being 99p...

Huh that can’t be right. Are they allowed to spread them out over weeks or no?

Oh I remembered they weren’t signed whereas the Miracle ones were signed.

Miracle CDs had some social media push on Stories. I've not seen a single promotion of Desire CDs so that could attribute to the lower sales plus the lack of signatures
The video dropped today!

I wonder why Sam's queerness isn't reflected in the video. I'm used to them being flamboyant and camp. Also, what's with the bruise on their nose? Is it part of the "chav" look?
