July 3, 20232 yr Author Nick Kyrgios has withdrawn from Wimbledon 2023 with a wrist injury. The Australian, 28, lost to Novak Djokovic in last year's men's singles final and has only played one tournament this year because of a knee injury that required surgery. Kyrgios announced on Sunday evening that he had torn a ligament in his wrist during his comeback. "I'm really sad to say that I have to withdraw from Wimbledon this year," he posted on Instagram. "I tried my hardest to be ready after my surgery and to be able to step on the Wimbledon courts again. "During my comeback, I experienced some pain in my wrist during the week of Mallorca. "As a precaution I had it scanned and it came back showing a torn ligament in my wrist
July 4, 20232 yr Author Coco Gauff out in three sets to Kenin. Great to see Kenin back playing again. Personally think Gauff has too much pressure on her shoulders.
July 4, 20232 yr Coco Gauff out in three sets to Kenin. Great to see Kenin back playing again. Personally think Gauff has too much pressure on her shoulders. I can certainly see that being potentially the case - finding it amazing she's still only 19 given how long she's been in the public conscience!
July 4, 20232 yr Coco Gauff out in the first round is a big upset, had her in my predictions to make the last 8, but at the same time it's nice to see Sofia Kenin get a win after all her injury issues. Expect the men's to be Djokovic/Alcaraz in the final with Djokovic winning. I've gone for Muchova to win in the women's, had a couple of good runs before and just coming off a final at the French Open. Would love to see Rybakina manage to defend, but I'm just questioning whether she's fully fit after her recent illness.
July 5, 20232 yr really bizarre from Gauff, I saw her play the other day against Pegula and she was playing great and was on grass so she should be kinda adapted I saw Rybakina yesterday and she played so-so, maybe it will be Sabalenka this time if she doesn't chicken out like at RG
July 5, 20232 yr Author You have the World No 1 players into the third round already whilst some players haven't even played their first round matches!
July 6, 20232 yr yes thats crazy, I was reading how Zverev hasn't played yet and it's Thursday already and Swiatek is already on R3 the Thiem-Tsitsipas game yesterday was great and theres MurrayTsitsipas today, the Greek will be exhausted though
July 6, 20232 yr The scheduling does seem pretty bad, but Tsitsipas going to a fifth set tie-break and then having to come back today to play Murray who's had a day off and got through his own match in straight sets (the least amount of games he's dropped at a Slam in years according to the commentary?), we love to see it Korda being out in round 1 is a big shock, but great news for Norrie/Murray who are in the same section, I expected Korda to make at least the quarters
July 6, 20232 yr Sakkari winning a first set 6-0 then proceeding to lose the match is peak, one of the most overrated players on the tour.
July 6, 20232 yr but Korda has been out injured most of the year and just came back the other day, don't think he's in form yet Muchova out today!
July 7, 20232 yr what happened to Ruud? was he injured of something? 6-0 in the final really? Tsitsipas-Murray was great to watch, pity they couldn't finish
July 7, 20232 yr I'm not too shocked, Ruud's grass court record is abysmal. Great that it happened to be a Brit on the right side though of course!
July 7, 20232 yr Ah shame Norrie is out but fair play to Chris Eubank, that's quite the career switch!
