July 28, 20233 yr Author 19 | | 3rd week Charli XCX Speed Drive Soundtrack single from Barbie Released: 29th June 2023 Label: Atlantic Recording Corporation Chart Statistics NE (13/07/2023) | 61-94-x RE (03/08/2023) | 19 Sales: 10k+ Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio 00 Sales 00 Audio Streaming 00 Video Streaming Video TxZwCpgxttQ Biography Whether she’s penning defiantly joyous singles like “I Love It” or exploring her darker side, Charli XCX is proof that you don’t need to stay in one lane to become a massive success. Born Charlotte Aitchison in 1992 in Cambridge, England, to Scottish and Gujarati Indian parents, Charli took up songwriting at 14, lifting her stage name from her instant messenger handle. On the strength of her MySpace uploads and performances at London raves, she landed a record deal at 18, released the modestly successful darkwave cuts “Stay Away” and “Nuclear Seasons”, then hit the big time with 2012’s kiss-off anthem “I Love It”. Originally scrapped from her own album for being too poppy, the beat-pounding re-recording by Swedish duo Icona Pop quickly became a worldwide dance-floor favourite. Her goth-tinged debut album, 2013’s True Romance, and tracks like the psychedelic, Gold Panda-sampling "You (Ha Ha Ha)” soon positioned Charli as the missing link between Grimes’ freak scene, Lorde’s dark melodies, and Carly Rae Jepsen’s sweetness. Never one to repeat herself, she’s built a track record as a prolific songwriter and collaborator, penning hits for Iggy Azalea (“Fancy”) and Selena Gomez (“Same Old Love”) and working with the likes of Lil Yachty, David Guetta and BTS. She even followed up the 2019 eclectic, star-studded Charli with 2020’s intimate how i'm feeling now, an album written with fan input during her six-week pandemic quarantine. One thing is clear: Charli XCX’s creative drive and willingness to take risks has made her one of the most unique, enthralling artists of her era. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2013 01 I Love It (Icona Pop feat. July 28, 20233 yr Author 18 | 13 | 4th week D-Block Europe and Clavish Pakistan 2nd single from DBE World Released: 30th June 2023 Label: D-Block Europe Chart Statistics NE (13/07/2023) | 10-8-13-18 Sales: 60k+ Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio 99 Sales 12 Audio Streaming 02 Video Streaming Video Ry1m40ScWks Biography D-Block Europe “We’re the ones that are pushing this boundary,” D-Block Europe’s Young Adz told Apple Music. “People who are signing urban music over here—they call it urban, we call it pop in the streets—that ain’t street music. We’re doing street, UK, wavy music, front-lining it.” They might not consider themselves pop, but by the most literal definition, DBE are just that. Chart positions, sold-out arenas and a nomination for the 2020 BRIT Award for British Group (before they’d even released a debut album) all make them one of UK rap’s most popular acts. D-Block Europe was originally a collective that called upon various London MCs, but Adz and childhood friend Dirtbike LB have emerged as both the engine room and executive board of the operation. They met at Sedgehill School in South London, where Adz was dropping mixtapes from the age of 13. He signed an ultimately fruitless major-label deal at 15 before coming under the patronage of NY rap heavyweight Jadakiss, who offered features, support slots and license to use The LOX’s D-Block Records name. With a series of self-released singles and mixtapes, Young Adz and Dirtbike LB took their place at UK rap’s top table during the late 2010s. Leavening trap’s chilly textures and portraits of road life with sticky Auto-Tuned hooks, their music is notable for its nimble wordplay and candour. While D-Block quickly gathered notoriety for their unfiltered bedroom braggadocio (“Kitchen Kings”), their willingness to open up about mental health and therapy (“Prescription Drugs”) has made them a standout presence in UK rap. It’s all been done independently by the industrious duo (63 new tracks released across three mixtapes during 2019 alone). They’ve continuously waved away offers from labels, confident that no one can guide their career as well as they can. Every award, Top 5 release or filled arena only strengthens their self-belief. “When you see Messi kick ball, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing,” said Young Adz. “Sometimes, the people have to choose you because they’re like, ‘We ain’t never going to see this again—from their sounds, from what they talk about.’ Our personalities shine through our music. We’re bigger personalities than rappers.” - Apple Music Clavish It’s fair to say that Clavish is on an upward trajectory after finding consistency with releasing music and often finding success in how it’s being received by the culture. In 2021 he released his EP 2022 a five-track teaser into what a Clavish project would sound like and this year alone he has released ‘Lately’, ‘Greece’ and ‘Sold Out Shows’. In his latest release ‘Public Figure’ the North-West rapper acknowledges his newfound position in rap culture, arguably being seen as one of the most exciting up-and-coming rappers in a new generation that comes directly after the crop of Dave, Fredo, J Hus, AJ Tracey and Mostack. Navigating his success, like all rappers he still struggles to remove himself from certain situations that were familiar to him in his old life, as he raps with quality cadence “You know I’m an artist but if I see three numbers you know I’m spinning the coop.” - New Wave Magazine Top 100 Chart History D-Block Europe 2018 49 Gucci Mane (D-Block Europe & Yxng Bane) -1- 2018 35 Nassty (D-Block Europe, Young Adz, Dirtbike LB & Lil Pino) -NAS- 2018 80 Tell The Truth (The Plug presents D-Block Europe & Rich The Kid) 2019 16 Kitchen Kings -1- 2019 62 Kettle Pouring -AT- 2019 70 Running Man -AT- 2019 20 Home P*ssy -1- 2019 53 Rich (The Plug presents D-Block Europe & Offset) 2019 16 Nookie (feat. July 28, 20233 yr Author 16 | 14 | 10th week Kylie Minogue Padam Padam 1st single from Tension Released: 18th May 2023 Label: Kylie Minogue / Darenote Chart Statistics NE (01/06/2023) | 26-23-12-9-8-10-12-10-14-16 Sales: 100k+ Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio 01 Sales 14 Audio Streaming 08 Video Streaming Video p6Cnazi_Fi0 Biography Australia’s biggest pop icon is a master of shape-shifting, with a silvery voice that adapts to spunky novelty dance tracks as well as sleek synth-pop and a theatrical bent that turns her live shows into spectacles. Born in Melbourne in 1968, Kylie Minogue got her start in acting, debuting on the soap opera Neighbours in her teen years and almost immediately becoming one of the nation’s most beloved television actors. A benefit performance led to the release of her first single, a cover of Little Eva’s “The Loco-Motion,” in 1987; it became a hit in Australia, and her 1988 re-recording of it, helmed by the superproducer team Stock Aitken Waterman, was a worldwide smash. The new version was included on her 1988 debut, Kylie, a collection of frothy pop highlighted by the sparkling “I Should Be So Lucky.” Minogue continued her relationship with SAW until the 1993 release of Kylie Minogue, which was recorded with club-oriented producers including M People and Brothers In Rhythm. Her aesthetic matured during the ’90s, both in her solo work and on the Nick Cave duet “Where the Wild Roses Grow.” In 2001, the slick “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” blew up in clubs and on the radio, and its accompanying album, Fever, featuring the buoyant “Love At First Sight” and the sinuous “Come Into My World,” re-established Minogue as a pop force. She later worked with pop gurus like Stuart Price and Greg Kurstin on tracks such as the sumptuous “All the Lovers” and the peppy “Wow,” flirted with country and disco, indulged her art-house side in films like Holy Motors, and embarked on ambitious tours that showcased her flair for the dramatic—and her long-honed ability to captivate audiences. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 1988 01 I Should Be So Lucky -1- 1988 02 Got To Be Certain -2- 1988 02 The Loco-Motion -3- 1988 02 Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi -4- 1988 01 Especially For You (Kylie Minogue & Jason Donovan) MILLION SELLER 1989 01 Hand On Your Heart -1- 1989 02 Wouldn't Change A Thing -2- 1989 04 Never Too Late -3- 1990 01 Tears On My Pillow -4- 1990 02 Better The Devil You Know -1- 1990 04 Step Back In Time -2- 1991 06 What Do I Have To Do? -3- 1991 06 Shocked -4- 1991 16 Word Is Out -1- 1991 04 If You Were With Me Now (Kylie Minogue & Keith Washington) -2- 1991 49 Keep On Pumpin' It (Visionmasters feat.
