Imagine seeing your highly anticipated solo career bursting into flames and leaving the UK entirely to do random promo in America instead of doing....anything here to save it.

She doesn't deserve to have hits if this is her attitude to her career.

94 in the mids :deadbanana:

I'm guessing it is very unlikely that this will bounce back?

If this doesn't recover in the chart, I can't see Warner investing in another single.

I still think we'll get more singles and an album tbh.

I can see her jumping on a big UK collab next year and announcing the album, I don't see her giving up.

This could have done well with some promo, its a shame. Starting to question if any of the girls can make a solo success

People keep saying she should do promo like being on This Morning would make any difference.

The reason the main promo is radio is to influence radio to play it, that would be the best chance of it becoming a hit (if it was a better song too).

What a ridiculous post? How have you been following the careers of popstars and think they have any control over their schedule?

I think it's evident that Leigh's team aren't chasing a hit, for whatever reason they just aren't - Leigh has said herself they aren't chasing chart numbers specifically and she's just enjoying music. Why is everyone so mad? I get that it's a great song and it's not getting the exposure it deserves, but how is this Leigh's fault? Do you think Leigh herself sets up meetings with streaming/radio support people? Do you think she herself sends it to radio? Why are you blaming Leigh, and even saying she has a lack of want for her career? It's very obvious that Leigh has a hunger to succeed, but chart success is not the only way go about it, and in all honesty, she would be better off building her brand first, building a fanbase, releasing music quickly - all of which she has been doing.

I just think it's ridiculous to sit and blame Leigh when she can't really do anything, there probably are things in the pipeline but not everything has to be so transparent, we've seen over the last few years that songs randomly blow-up and take off once the timing is right.

What exactly do you want her to do? She's posting on socials, building her brand, being engaging with fans - what left is there to do in her power?

Also, the conversation re: "Warner investing in another single" etc - you are all applying "new artist, no experience" criteria to Leigh. I can guarantee her contract with Warner included a full campaign for an album, she was a part of the biggest girl group in the world and has a decent bit of power behind her name, I don't think Leigh is going to be an artist who is strung along and eventually dropped. She has already stated there is an album, more than likely with another single (I believe she said there are 3 singles?) and on her Apple Music interview with MNEK, she said she has full creative control over her music - an artist who is going to be strung along and not supported would not get full control. Let's be real. Leigh may not be a huge huge name, but she was definitely able to iron out a solid contract for herself. The main event hasn't even happened yet.

So much of the talk in these threads is basically applying things that would happen in 2015 to something that really isn't happening anymore. Artists who get signed pretty much manage to get an album out regardless of success.

Thank you very much!!

Also, manage your expectations guys. Any of them having a hit as a soloist should come as a surprise (albeit a pleasant one) and not the other way round.

Still loving the track and the video. My track of the month ❤️

This is very rose tinted glasses. Warner are a music label not a charity, budgets will be getting slashed as we speak. Of course they were chasing a hit you don't release 3 cd singles if you are just letting a song do its thing.

There will always be a clause in a contract too that means if the artist is under performing then the label can get out of it and 'drop' them.

Right now I'd say single number 3 will be make or break, one more under performing single and I highly doubt they will invest in the costs of releasing an album. Even Leigh doesn't sound totally confident that an albun will defo be released.

Sometimes I think y'all worry more than her. A bit cringe

She's happy and doing her stuff so just enjoy whichever part you like. If there's none, then it is what it is.

I can't pretend it's not disappointing :( I personally still love "My Love" but I just don't think she's connecting with people for whatever reason.

I mean it’s pretty obvious she was expecting to pull numbers and high chart positions, despite people saying she wasn’t about that. I mean who wouldn’t want that?

However, I’m really glad to hear she’s overcoming the reality and that she’s working her way up (although she does have a better platform than other ‘new’ artists’).

I'm surprised at her surprise. But again, I'm surprised at my surprise of her surprise! She says/writes/shares things sometimes that make me cringe. She was the one who said on IG live that Trash would blow up Tiktok. She also shared a post of someone saying she'll be the Beyonce of the group. There are other examples I can't remember. Some of these thoughts/wishes/expectations for some reason get jinxed once they're put out there, which is why it's often best to keep them to oneself/inner circle.

I didn't like that people were blaming her for the performances of her songs. I think she's put in a lot of hardwork. The expectations are unbelievable as well. Artists from groups do not have their group's level of success; Examples are too numerous to mention. The exceptions are an anomaly, and it's usually one person out of the group

There'll be a bit more happiness in the world if people manage their expectations better.

She also shared a post of someone saying she'll be the Beyonce of the group.

Really?! That's not very professional. Even if she really believes in it, she shouldn't say / retweet that. Artists shouldn't blow their own trumpet.

I was listening to this loudly in the car driving home from work last night (best way to listen to music) and honestly I just don’t think it’s that good of a song. It’s ok but I’m not overly surprised that it hasn’t done amazingly well for her which is a shame because I really want her to succeed :(
