5k fans? This is Kylie Minogue who sells out arenas all over the world and is about to do a Las Vegas stint, she has far more than 5k fans.

5k hardcore fans that have to buy everything. The rest are casuals that will give it a couple of streams release week. I swear people just become completely blind on here the moment one of buzzjacks fave pop girls releases. We all know how the album chart works now, multi format buying by hardcore fan bases and Kylie's are the most OTT. No one is casually buying albums anymore hence the massive drop offs from week 1. You only know you have appealed to the mass market and casuals if you get big streaming sales too and that gives albums longevity.

The Spice girls sold 700k tickets to their 2019 UK tour, their 25th anniversary releases didn't sell 700k copies or even 10k. Selling concert tickets is to the casuals as well as hardcore fans. Music releases now especially physical is only to the hardcore.

^Ed, you sound so bitter, is it cos Substract flopped? maybe make better music, invest time in non-shitty better songwriting (you're 32, not 12) and then you won't flop. Also big streams... depends... if it's from playlists or if it real proper streams like Taylor, who has zero songs on playlists.
Def a number 1 with over 50K !!
I read it on Say hey

It sounds like fan fiction. I’d be happy if it’s true but that figure seems wildly out of line with reality.

40k in pre-orders means a huge fanbase in the US, she is not on k-pop star like Blackpink levels there. Would be great if Tension could sell 40k in its first week overall though, that is possible.

Lol not Bjork and Kath just proving that point made in sales thread about Ed 😂. Wonder if they are going to be called toxic and underhand now?

Spices are huge flops these days. From being the most commercial band ever, to selling less than a new garage rock band... You can't compare them to Kylie

I WISH Kylie would do the 99p trick 😂 hun imagine the sales for her physicals, they would do wonders for that chart week.

I PRAY Kylie does it with Tension but BMG are more about the profit and I get that hun.

Omfg ... THIS

Also it always seems to be Kylie that people get so pressed about releasing multiple formats - literally every artist does it, it’s just that very few have a fanbase that support as much.

And 5k? This is Kylie not Emma Bunton.

‘Tension’ is available on 11 variants across vinyl, cassette and CD at the moment, in line with the majority of bigger artists each week.

I know my hun

Remember when Little Mix had just as many formats as Kylie if not more. Not one would bat a minge lash but when Kylie had similar formats, they roasted her because she was beating those brats. Anyway, I am glad they are no more.

I am happy I can focus on the Tension release with no distractions, no worries about anyone trying to contend with Kylies number 1 album placement.

I can have a relaxing week come 22nd huns.

Omfg THIS!!! The little shéts were just pumpin our absolute crap, with hundreds of variants for their SUPER SALTY tasteless fanbase, to try and beat the Spicy Girks via pure volume. It easn't real music - just McDonald's processed sound. Kylie just looks down her defined shoulder and chuckles, as she stomps by in her high heels to the nom1, and then forgetss about them as soon as they are behind her

To be fair, I know loads of more casual/less-hardcore fans who are only buying one format so I don't think it's fair to say that it'll only be selling to a select group of people who are buying every format!
