Top 30 on Spotify today for singer/songwriter Kenya Grace who has signed to Major Recordings (Warner's Dance label). Kenya has a strong social media following and has built up some hype towards this release which has culminated in some solid Day 1 figures! Strangers is a slice of chilled drum and bass. Nice to have a dance act that's gone viral online.

 

I heard this on the Altar playlist this morning and very nearly included it in ETOTW and now it's debuted at #28 on Spotify. Crazy :lol:

Heard this playing on Kiss FM yesterday. I thought it was PinkPantheress at first. Sounds very similar.

Just realised she's from the UK, for some reason I thought this was a global US hit

This is going bananas on TikTok and the car/bike community have adopted it. It’s nice to see she’s credited as the only performer-writer-producer.

Just listened to this for the first time and it is good, but I'm surprised something that feels as low key-ish as this, has taken off as quickly as it has. I don't think it really sounds like a big hit? I might be out of touch though.

 

All that being said, I do like the vibe of this a lot.
