Did anyone catch the finale last night?

I didn't think it was very good in comparison to the Christmas day special.

I think a few parts of the Christmas day episode were hilarious, like when she jumped in the puddle, leaped and rolled over the gate. Oh and of course the thing that all girls can relate to "IT SHOULDA BIN ME!". I think not even just girls, EVERYONE has been there before. I just thought it was excellent. ^_^

Last nights was a bit patchy, some bits were funny and others just... weren't. A lot of the Alice parts were funny, the bit where Owen splashed her with the car was funny, but I didn't really like it because I wanted her to have her perfect wedding. Then that vicar was beginning to annoy me, and it was all just a bit too much and I didn't really enjoy it.

So on a whole:

Christmas Day episode - BRILLIANT.

New Years Day episode - Not so much.

Thoughts?

Yeh same really, last nights was average lol wasnt the best one too much reminising (dont know how to spell that word :( ) i dont like tv programmes when they do that, the last royle family didnt need to do that to do a great show but the christmas VOD  was really good when she was followin that man and his sister also the wedding

Christmas Day Special - Great Tv.

I missed last Nights :(

I was never that impressed with Vicar of Dibley tbh, I am a fan of the show I just wouldn't regard it as one of my favourite's particularly. Christmas Day episode was brilliant but I wasn't sure if it was because it was an exceptionally good episode or whether it was because I've missed it

Yesterday's was back to normal Vicar of Dibley imo, good but nothing amazing. And I loved the end too.

Last nights was a bit rubbish in comparison to the Xmas one.

It was funny in places but just not as funny in general as the Xmas one. When Owen started to drive the car I just knew that he was gonna go into a puddle. I didn't really like the ending to last nights one at all. :(

The joke from last night was hilarious though. So glad her husband explained it at the end though or else I wouldn't have got it. :(

Oh yeah I forgot about the joke. I think the joke was the only thing that stopped me having immediate negative feeling towards it. :(

Awww are they not on YouTube? :(

I thought the final 2 episodes were funnier than any other vicar of dibley episodes! :D

I was in hysterics at Dawn French singing hips don't lie!

Overall I'd say the xmas one was slightly better, but this was amazing also! I need to invest in the DVD box set!

I'm a huge fan, and I agree that Christmas Day's was funnier, especially how she went into the puddle again

I know it's predictable but I so didn't see that car splash gag.

I thought the joke was all episode she was dreading them arranging the wedding then it was gonna be alright on the day.

I love when she she flew out of the church at the end!

The Christmas one was really funny. It Should Been me - love it.

it was awful really, shouldnt have done it. evertime you turn a comedy into a soap it loses its appeal. tvod was a good, gentle, warm comedy but that was in the past. this storyline was utter bollox... as if a bloke like that would fancy that enourmous blob!

Oh come on Rob it's meant to be a fairytale ending for her, would you rather she was killed off in a house fire or something?

Yeah. And Dawn French may not be skinny but she isn't ugly...plenty of men fancy her. There's a difference.

She's also what, in her 40's? How many women in their 40's are rake thin supermodel types - in general.

The storyline wasn't amazing but so what, I was never a huge fan of it but when I saw it before the plots were never huge.

sorry but getting physical with someone (anyone) of that self imposed body type is utterly revolting if not near impossible. yeast infections, logistics of not being able to reach certain areas to clean them... :puke2:

why did it need an ending after all these years?... nahhh... boring, unfunny, ruination of the previous good works... shouldnt have been made.

You dont like how the shows gone, so you attack Dawn? She spends her life trying to make people smile and be happy - she doesn't deserve that sort of treatment. and certainly doesnt dish it out to people.

And wow some ending - she got married! That really ended the whole show in such a horrible, awful way - the characters are ruined forever!!! Oh my god. I think I may just cry myself to sleep worried sick now The Vicar of Dibley is ruined!

It got 12 million viewers and a million more viewers for the last ep than the Xmas, so obviously there are people who still love the show.

So you're fattist Rob? :o :P

yes!....lol.. i find folds of fat physically repulsive.

i dare say theres plenty of people on here who find 'old men' physically repulsive....lol.. i can live with that!

She never used to be that size when she was in The Young Ones a few times. She could've lost a bit of the weight by now, but instead she's piled more on.

One of the good things about Dawn is she doesn't care about her weight. And who cares anyway, she is excellent at what she does.

I missed last night's episode. :( But I watched the christmas one and LOVED it. :D
