Are Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr at 81 and 83 respectively now the oldest ever artists to achieve a UK number 1 single?

Captain Tom Moore was 100 on the last day that he topped the chart with Michael Ball in 2020.

no At 99 years old (and just days before his 100th birthday), Captain Tom Moore holds the record as the oldest artist to score a Number 1

Dylan Gossett's 'Coal' becomes the 9th country song to hit the Top 100 this year by my count!

Many here will be pleased to hear that its more like the alt-country sounds of Zach Bryan than Morgan Wallen.

A-ha - Take On Me appears in the chart for the first time since 1986

Is it on a current advert?

The last day that Captain Tom Moore was number 1 , Thursday 30th April 2020, was his 100th Birthday therefore he topped the chart as a 100 year old.

Does anyone know if the OCC, with the way they bend the rules when they please, added all 10 buyable variants of Now and Then, or whether they just didn't bother doing a Some Might Say this time round and discounted 7 of the formats altogether?

Think they actually followed their own rules for once cos there are no cassettes in their sales
