This aged well lol

To be fair, anyone who has a Amazon Exclusive Christmas single can easily go Top 10. It's all down to the power of Alexa. :magic:

Not Eliza Rose though, she's cursed!

Hold on...surely this means it will not longer be on ACR? As they are actively promoting it? So it will run away with the number 1, if that is the case...

Only if they are being super sexist vs Mariah. Their hatred for her runs deep, as they didn't reset her when she actively promoted her best Xmas song ever for its anniversary, sooo...

oh my just read Wham have announced physical singles, both CD singles and vinyl singles too

that kinda seals it I reckon

Haven’t they done this last year or the year before? How much demand can there really be?

I don't think the physicals for Wham! will be much of a factor, indeed they already did a physical re-release a few years ago.

(And I think the OCC are pretty explicit about not giving resets to 3+ year old Christmas songs for any reason)

Apart from the many dozens who didn't :P (there's only 1 or 2 per year that get that high, plenty more that chart much lower or not at all).

I think it's the first ever UK release on CD, though, so that niche market of people who still buy CD singles will want to get it. The thing on the Amazon listing says "600+ bought in the past month", so yeah, it won't make a MASSIVE difference, but it means we will have a small battle for the CD singles chart between Sam Ryder and Wham!, which is a nice novelty!

I don’t like the TikTok thing it is all organised by talent agencies and brand management. It seems they get the public to pay for expenses raise a little for charity then pat themselves on the back for helping their clients get more fans and a Christmas number 1. But all those groups and people could probably raise a lot more without the expenses if they have 5k each to charity maybe 5x more so it’s pointless to me. Not surprised it’s the same guy who was behind ladbaby.
The real MVPs in this world are the ones who quietly go about doing charitable deeds, such as those you see on the Pride of Britain Awards, without expecting anything in return. They are the opposite of these attention-seeking grifters.

The Pogues posted this online a couple of hours ago -

‘Fairytale of New York’ to be released as charity 7” vinyl single

The band and Shane’s widow, Victoria Mary Clarke, back campaign to finally try and get The Pogues Christmas classic to number one

The 7” single is available to pre-order now

All profits from vinyl sales to benefit Dublin Simon Community - a charity loved and supported by Shane and Victoria

I got the cd and vinyl back in 2005 when it was re released but might be tempted to get the Wham one if it’s in hmv!

PREACH!!! These charity grifters, especially Ladbaby, "it's rhe best way to donate to the charoty", are the worst.

They're so confident they're going to be number one (where is the pre-order link?). They must be paying someone to boost their numbers.

Ooh another interesting twist ~ I don't think this has had a physical reissue since the one in 2005?

Surprised they were able to organise this at such short notice given the typical lag time for vinyl pressings these days, unless they were actually planning to reissue it this year already anyway. The release date is given as 19th December so these sales presumably won't appear in the First Look and Monday midweeks.

(scenes if The Pogues now end up being Christmas #2 again behind the TikTok thing...)

I know I mentioned it before, but a lot of people are saying "The Pogues HAVE to be number one 😡" but I don't know if they'll actually buy it.

Also, I'm curious about how many versions of this "Creator" thing there are. Is there just one? I wouldn't be surprised if there was another version which featured disabled children, or something like that.

I just saw that Sam Ryder did a busking event with Deliveroo and he had a charity bucket next to him, with all proceeds going to the Trussell Trust. Guess all the TikTokers were too busy

Then they need to srop listenin to Wham and it'll get there!!

What has Alexa got anythink to do with it? I asked Alexa to play Christmas songs and I had to listen to over 12 songs before they played sam's (even last Christmas was played before sam's)

That’s big for both Wham! and the Pogues. Would put my money on the Pogues now

I will explode if we see "Creator Universe feat. LadBaby" as a surprise new mix on Monday...

What makes it even more annoying is the fact that the original version of "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday" has never charted higher than #4! If a rubbish cover of it gets to number 1...ugh. Anything but that.
