Write a witty, informative commentary on the UK albums chart published on 8 December 2023

Here is the result. Can anyone spot a problem?

The UK albums chart this week is a testament to the eclectic tastes of music lovers, with an intriguing mix of new releases and old favorites making their mark. Topping the chart is none other than the legendary Adele, whose highly anticipated album "30" has finally arrived. This emotional rollercoaster of an album sees Adele baring her soul in her signature powerful voice, with tracks like "Easy on Me" and "I Drink Wine" already becoming fan favorites. It's no surprise that her latest offering has debuted at number one, solidifying her place as one of the greatest singer-songwriters of our time.

But Adele isn't the only one making waves on the chart. Close behind her is the electrifying ABBA with their new album "Voyage," which has shot up to number two. It's been nearly four decades since the Swedish pop icons graced our airwaves, and it seems their fans haven't forgotten them. The lead single "I Still Have Faith in You" has already become an anthem, and the rest of the album promises to be just as infectious.

In third place is another artist with a long-standing reputation: Ed Sheeran. His latest offering, "Equals," features a mix of heartfelt ballads and upbeat tracks that showcase his versatility as a musician. The album's title track, a duet with the late singer-songwriter Taylor Hawkins, is a poignant tribute to their friendship and musical collaboration.

One of the most exciting newcomers on the chart is Sam Fender, whose debut album "Seven Songs" has landed at number four. This young Brit has been making waves with his raw, emotive lyrics and catchy melodies. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of his full-length album, and it's clear that they haven't been disappointed. Tracks like "Hypersonic Missiles" and "Dead Physical" showcase his talent for storytelling and his knack for crafting infectious choruses.

Rounding out the top five is another artist with a loyal fanbase: Coldplay. Their latest offering, "Music of the Spheres," has been a massive hit since its release, and it's easy to see why. The album features collaborations with some of the biggest names in music, including BTS and Billie Eilish, and its mix of soaring ballads and upbeat anthems is sure to please fans both old and new.

Overall, this week's UK albums chart is a testament to the enduring popularity of great music and the diverse range of artists and genres that continue to captivate listeners. From Adele's heart-wrenching ballads to Coldplay's cosmic explorations, there's something for everyone on this week's chart. So put on your favorite album, sit back, and enjoy the musical journey!

The cutoff date for GPT training data is September 2021 (might have been extended to Jan 2022 now). It must have taken the most recently announced popular albums it was aware of existing and typed a commentary to match.

I despise AI with every fibre of my being, especially as an online copywriter who has really suffered this year. If it's getting so many music-related things wrong, which other topics is it farting out nonsense about? Kill it, kill it with fire!

Love that Sam Fender classic "Dead Physical".

AI is brilliant at code writing if you check it afterwards. I used it to write a set of mock exam answers and gave it to my class and asked them to find the problems. I think it got one answer right. I wanted them to understand that whilst it can do some things it is a tool and no more and does not replace human thought.

Yes the knowledge cutoff automatically impairs ChatGPT in tasks like this.

I do find it intriguing that it knows that Taylor Hawkins is dead despite it's knowledge of the album chart cutting off several months earlier.
