Some previous sales - although bare in mind that The Libertines last released an album 9 years ago now! It's hard to predict how they'll do this time.

The Libertines - Anthems For The Doomed Youth: 23,620 (2023)

J. Cole - The Off-Season: 21,050 (2021)

Vampire Weekend - Father of the Bride: 14,772 (2019)

Feeder - Torpedo: 6,055 (2022)

The Black Keys - Dropout Boogie: 5,692 (2022)

My prediction:

1. The Libertines

2. J. Cole

3. Vampire Weekend

4. Beyonce

5. The K's

Feeder & The Black Keys will be somewhere between #6 and #10.

Would be very surprised if Benson isn't top 5

I've not heard of The K's, so can't comment on them... I would say there's a fair bit of hype around Libertines this time around, so #1 is definitely in the bag for them. Feeder's 2019 did 7.5k, so yeah, probably a certainly to be behind Vampire Weekend! #5 would be a great result if Feeder can make it then!

Benson's CDs aren't available until next week it seems (HMV says it's out of stock, Amazon's changed the date to 12th April), so I guess they weren't ready yet. I don't expect him to be that high at all on just downloads and streaming (and even the CD wouldn't guarantee it imo, it's the only physical format).

oh didn't know Mark Knopfler hd a solo album out, guess the Dire Straits fanbase is huge enough to make him #1 over James

It's hard to tell really - his last solo album in 2018 only got to #17. Although that was a November release, and things were still a bit more competitive in that period back then.

He has had a top 10 single recently I guess

#18, and it’s a charity single featuring some of the biggest artists of all time!

It probably says something about his selling powers though, so we’ll see. I’ll be surprised if he isn’t at least Top 3 anyway.
