On a day when the weather levelled the playing field Verstappen showed everyone that right now, he's in a class all of his own.

That was one of his best drives and he reminded me of Schumacher even more than normal.

Great result for Renault as well.

It was also glorious to see the McLaren MP4 out there again. Such a thing of beauty

yesterday Verstappen really gave a lesson to Norris and co about how to drive and how to win a race and a chamionship

Norris again with a disastrous start and endless errors left and right, pitiful performance

Love this result for Max - it somewhat moves him away from that Jenson Button title winning realm of dominate early on and cling on towards the end (and Max is so many levels above Jenson for me)

Great to see the Alpine's on the podium, although feels a little harsh that Ocon got 2nd over Gasly as that went against recent form (reminded me of Ricciardo winning a race over Norris). Saying that, would like to have seen Russell on the podium instead

That was Max's best ever drive for sure, even better than the overrated 2016 drive.

Only other one that comes close was Japan '22 where again he was in a completely different league to everyone else.

Yesterday was also very sobering for Colapinto and Bearman, honeymoon period well and truly over for them now.

Haven't seen anymore about the aborted start infringements either?

The RB's were deemed to have followed the front row's lead. Everyone else got told to go as it would have been unsafe and unfair otherwise
I wonder if anyone on the internet has already started comparing Norris with his idol in 2-wheel racing following that 'lucky' commentary. :kink:

After 2024 being the first season to see zero rookies start the season 2025 is gonna be very much the opposite with 5! (OK Bearman and Lawson have done races but not a full season).

Gonna be very exciting to see how the new blood fares. And now we have another Brazilian back on the grid.

So will we now see Perez ditched & Colapinto getting a drive with other movements?
Don't know what they'll do with Perez, I'm sure he's failed all of his personal performance targets which would give them grounds to terminate his contract early but it's same old issue with that second seat. They could do a lot worse than give Lawson a run out but I reckon they'll just stick with the same line-up and give Lawson the whole season to duke it out with Tsunoda for the right to drive in '26.

Niels Wittich has left his role as Formula 1's race director with immediate effect.

The German, a replacement for Michael Masi in 2022, "has stepped down from his position to pursue new opportunities," the FIA said in a statement to BBC Sport.

He will be replaced from the next race in Las Vegas by Rui Marques, most recently the race director for Formula 2 and 3.

The Renault-owned Alpine team will use Mercedes engines in Formula 1 from the 2026 season.

The deal, which follows the decision in September to end Renault’s own engine programme in 2025, runs until at least the end of 2030.

Alpine will also use Mercedes-supplied gearboxes from 2026, although the team are exploring their options to design these in-house from 2027.

The F1 2025 championship season will kick off via a 10-team car launch event in London, breaking with the traditions of the usual launch season.

Formula 1 will hold a launch season extravaganza in London ahead of the F1 2025 season on February 18th bringing together all 10 teams for a massive event to ring in the new championship.

It would be brutal for Doohan, being announced and then being dumped by Alpine before you even get to start the season if rumours are true that Alpine are trying to get Colapinto.

So Mercedes engine is the Ducati of F1 then.

Come on Christian Horner/Red Bull. Save the situation by getting rid of Checo
